Mr. Harold and Miss Dorothy Kuntz, of Windsor, spent the week­ end under the parental roof in town. Mrs, J. Hubert Jones and little daughter arrived home Monday even­ ing from Victoria Hospital, London. Mr; John Gould and Mr, and Mrs. Howard" D. Gould, of Detroit, .are visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Rd. Davis. Miss Gladys Rogers, of Toronto, has returned to her home after vis­ iting with Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Christie. t Mr. and Mrs. F. Willis and family, of Marlette, Mich., visited for sev­ eral days with relatives in this com­ munity. Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Sheere and daughter Jean, are holidaying this week and motored to Stayner to vis­ it with relatives. Mrs. P. Coates and daughter, Miss Verna, Mrs. E. A. Amy and Mts. J. Fisher motored to Drayton to spend a few days with relatives. Mrs. McColl and Miss M. Walters, of Morpeth, were guests with Rev. W. and Mrs. Jones at the rectory during the past week. •Mr. and Mrs. N. Hern, of Norwich and Mrs. George Young, of London, attended the Hern picnic in Usborne, on Wednesday of last week. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Brown and daughter Betty, of London, were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Hep­ burn, of Usborne on Sunday. Miss Velma Quail, of Seaforth; and Miss Mamie Lee, of Thorndale, are visiting their grandparents Mr. and Mrs. George Easterbrook. Mr. Wesley Brethour and daugh­ ter and Mr. Brethour’s sister, Mrs. Miners, of Hamiofa, Man., are visit­ ing around Woqdham and Kirkton. Mr. W. A. Turnbull is ill in Vic­ toria Hospital, London. He has undergone a slight operation and expects to undergo a second in the near future. Rev. Mr. Harker, of Exeter, will preach in Zion church next Sunday morning in the absence of the pastor Rev. Mr. Smith, in the interests of the W. M. S. Mr, Phillip Hern was taken ill on Wednesday of last week and was taken to Victoria Hospital, London? for treatment and expects to under­ go an operation. Miss Alice Hoffman, of Dashwood, has been successful in passing her examinations at Stratford Normal School. She has been engaged to teach at S. S. No. 15, Hay. Miss Elizabeth Foote, daughter of Rev. James and Mrs. Foote, is the guest of Mrs. Carver, of Bay City, Mich., who is spending her vacation at her summer cottage at Bruce Beach. Miss Curliss, of Bolton, visited during the week with Mr. and Mrs. S. M. Sanders at their summer cot­ tage at Grand Bend and also spent a’few days this week with Miss Vera Essery, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Kydd and two children, of Detroit, spent the week­ end with the former’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jonathan Kydd. They left by auto for a trip around the Blue- Water Highway. Mr. Robt. Rowcliffe, of Usborne, who was seriously injured last week when he was knocked from a hay rack, the wheels of the wagon run­ ning over his body, is getting along remarkably well. Master Walter Davis, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. S. Davis, underwent an operation on Friday last at Victoria Hospital, London. He is at present getting along nicely. His mother was with him for a few days re­ turning Monday evening, Mr. Jesse Smith, who has been visiting in Exeter from the West and who a short time ago met width an auto accident and Was slightly in­ jured hear Bothwell, is again able to be around and returned to town on Wednesday of laM Week. Mr. and Mts. Alex, Ingram have returned to Detroit after holidaying for two Weeks with Mr. ingram’s Parente, in Hensall, and with Mrs. Ingram’s parents, Mr, and Mrs. S. Hardy, di! town. Miss Stella Ingram accompanied them home oh a visit. Mr. John Norris, wife and dau­ ghter, of Winnipeg, and Mr* and Hunkin, of Mitchell, called oft Mrs. S, Campbell on Sunday, They had motored to Montreal on a visit to their daughter and was very much pleased io find their friends jii well. The Caven .congregation and Sun­ day school are holding their annual picnic to Bayfield, today, (Wednes­ day.) ... Mrs. John Taylor, of Ann St., who was taken to Victoria Hospital, Lon­ don, last week for treatment, under­ went an operation on Saturday and is at present doing as well as can be expected. Mr. and Mrs, J. A. Stewart, Mrs. K. Fuke and son Stewart returned home the latter part of last week after visiting in Toronto and Bow- manville. D. D, G. M. Bro. Moffat and in­ stalling team from Brucefield visit­ ed Exeter Lodge No. 67, I. O. O. F. Tuesday evening and installed the officers for the current term, the N. G. being Bro. S. Reid and the -V. G. being Bro. Chas. Salter, all of the officers being re-installed this being their second term.
