How to make
Raspberry Jain
keep the color and flavor
of the fresh berries
Here is an easy new Way to make
perfect raspberry jam without cooking
away the luscious, fresh- flavor of
your berries and their beautiful bright
color.
With Certo you do. riot have to
"boil your fruit down.” One or
two minutes’ boiling is enough to
give a perfect, tender jell. You
cannot have a failure and you get
half again more jam from your
fruit because you save the juice in
stead of cooking it away.
. Crush thoroughly about 2 quarts
ripe berries. Measure 4 level cups
(2 lbs.) crushed berries into a large
kettle, add 6J-2 level cups (2M lbs.)
sugar and mix well. Use hottest
fire and stir constantly before and
while boiling. Bring to a full toll
ing boil and boil hard for 1 minute,
remove from fire and stir in H cup
Certo, Skim and stir repeatedly for
just 5 minutes after taking from
fire, to cool slightly. Then pour
quickly and cover hot jam at once
with hot melted paraffin.
A book of nearly 100 recipes for all sorts of delicious jams and jel
lies comes with each bottle of Certo.

Exterminate Weeds
Many million dollars worth of
farm products are ruined annually
by weeds. The loss in rental and
sale value incurred by weed-infested
farms is incalculable. The weed
pestilence has become intolerable.
Exterminate weeds on every
square foot of land on your own
* property, on unoccupied lots and
farm lands, on every highway and
lane, in city, town or country.
WARNING
Under the provisions of The Weed Con
trol Act 1927, now in force, the destruc
tion of noxious weeds is no longer optional.
The destruction of noxious weeds is now
* . compulsory.
Every occupant of land and every owner
of unoccupied land is required to destroy
all noxious weeds before their seeds ripen.
Municipal councils are required to destroy
• all noxious weeds growing upon the high-
’ ways. Let everyone co-operate to end
the weed nuisance.
