Performance is revolutionized with this newly developed engine head, previous Chrysler ratios df gas compression—always higher than those of ordinary engines — being again increased. This means that the compressed gas volume in the cylinder now expands six times (as against four jtgmes in ordinary engines) be fore it is exhausted, adding immense vitality and brilliance in speed, acceleration and hill-climbingr 1 Now, for the first time, thanks to the fore* sight.of Chrysler engineers who paved the way for this development in the rigid con struction of the Chrysler engine, with its girder-like crankcase webbing and strongly supported sturdy crankshaft, the virtues and values of high compression are available to- Chrysler owners, new and old alike. Any owner of a Chrysler, delighted as he may now be with the performance of his car, can have the “Red-Head0 applied and acquire a new measure of exhilaration sur passing his fondest dreams. Whether you are buying a new car or wish to rejuvenate the Chrysler you now have, see us at once for further details or an im- ptessive demonstration of Chrysler “Red- Head” advantages. T, U„ Huron County held their thirtieth annual conven tion in Queen St. United church in Bly th on July 7tli, 1927. An en couraging number of members at tended the opening session despire the rainy morning. The church presented a beautiful appearance be ing tastefully decorated in flags, ferns, peonies and maple leaves. Mrs. McQuire, the county presi dent, presided throughout the day. The minutes of the last meeting were adopted as^vere the reports of cor. sec’y, treasurer, Y, Se'y and L, T, L. secretary. A memorial service for those pro moted to higher service .was held. Their names were, Mrs. Fowell and Miss Lewis, of Exeter; Mrs, Oke, of Crediton; Mrs. Bosnell, of Elimville; Mrs. McLean, of Goderich and Mrs, (Dr.) Gunn, of Clinton, Words of appreciation and esteem were spok en of by members who knew tlios’e who had departed. In the afternoon reports from fifteen departments of work were received and adopted. Miss Duff, the talented Field Secretary of the W, C. T, U„ wps present and deliver ed inspiring addresses during the afternoon and evening sessions. An excellent programme of music and readings were also given. The following resolutions were moved and adopted: 1. Resolved that whereas, we are convinced that our most important field of work is among the young we recommend that each local union plan and carry out a three-fold con test in Elocution Essays and Posters on .Scientific Temperance in High and Public Schools. 2. Resolved that we press for Do minion wide prohibition and stand as ever opposed to any form of li cense or Government Sale of intoxi cating liquor. 3. Resolved that we promise to, vote for candidates, municipal, pro vincial and national, who are avow’- ed prohibitionists and who promise if elected to support that issue no matter what their party may be. 4. Resolved that a greater effort be made by the local unions to get reports to County Superintendents in good time for convention. 5. Resolved that in spite of the apparent set-back of the last year that we shall not allow ourselves to be discouraged but work and pray more earnestly. 6. Whereas we have reason to be lieve that some of our members have thoughtlessly supported candi dates favourable to Government Sale of liquor, in the last election, for getting that loyalty to their party meant gross disloyalty to their pledge as members of the W. C. T, U. -thus giving the opponents of prohi- ; bition the opportunity of saying that even members of the W. C. T. U, ap proved of the Government Sale of liquor. Be it therefore resolved that members following this coarse thereby breaking their pledge shall be called to express contrition to the executive of their union and renew their pledge before being recognized as members of the Woman’s Chris tian Temperance Union. The following officers were ap pointed for 1927-28: Hon. Press., Mesdames Davidson and McGuire; Pres., Mrs. Cooper, Clinton; Vice-’ Pres., Mrs. Lloyd, Wingham; Cor. Sec’y, Miss Ethel Murdock, Hensail; Rec. Sec’y, Miss Annie E. Consitt, Hensail; Treas., Miss Baillie, Gode rich; Y. Sec’y, Miss Joynt, Wing ham; L. T. L.
