Triebner two children, of Pontiac, Mich., iter for over a week with the mer’s mother, Mrs. F. Triebner. Bettis and two children, of Toronto, are visiting here at present. Mrs. G. A. Wyness, who has been visiting with relatives in and around Expter for a number of weeks, left for her home in Plenty, Sask., on Monday, accompanied by Mrs. Young Who has been visiting old friends in and around Kippen. Miss A. Yelland and sons are leaving next trip to the West. Mrs. visit with Mr. and Mrs. A. E. An­ drews at Pointex, Sask., also with friends at Edmonton and other, places. Miss Yelland will visit at Red Doer, Hardisty and Lobd. On and after the 1st July, 1927. the Stamp Tax in Canada on cheques bills of exchange and ptomisary notes will be reduced to two cents, irrespective of the amount, on any item exceeding $10. There will be no tax on items of $10 or less. The tax on advances and overdrafts ceases with that paid for the period ending 30 th June, Dr. G. F. and Mrs. Roulston and Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Beer left Tues­ day on a motor trip to Toronto, Ot­ tawa, Montreal and Quebec, They Will attend the Dominion Day cele­ bration at Ottawa which will be >n a magnicicant scale. Their plans include a two-day trip up the Saugenay riyer. CLINTON SCHOOL OF CORIMERCE CLOSED SUCCESSFUL YEAR ■ The School of Commerce, Clinton, lias just closed a most successful year. Especially in the typewriting department has the work been note­ worthy, the students having won 46 awards from the Educational De­ partment of the United Typewriter Co.; for which excellent standing the principal, Miss B.
