Wethey is presiding ex­ aminer at the Goderich Collegiate for the examinations now on. Mr. John Floyd, after spending a couple weeks with old friends in town, returned to Clinton Monday. Mrs. Wellington Johns left Tues­ day evening to visit with her daugh­ ter, Mrs. Wm. Street, of Bai’tonville. Messrs. Milton sell, of Detroit, visited in Exeter day. Miss Ross, of Monday for Toronto where she will be engaged in marking examination papers. Mr. and Mra C. L. Mills and Mrs. R. R. Rogers motored up from To­ ronto and -visited with Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Sanders and two sons, Jack and Gordon and a young friend visited over Sunday with the former’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. G. Sanders-. The Sunday School of the Triyitt Memorial church will meet next Sunday at ten a.m. instead of in the afternoon. Sunday-school will be. held in the morning until the end of August. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. T. Gbodison and- daughter Marjorie, of 'Sarnia, motored up and spent Sunday with Miss Lila Johns. Miss Marjorie is remaining until the latter part of the week. Miss Medd, the author of the pa­ geant “The Crowning of Canada” is in London to-day, Thursday, the guest bert’s being Mr. and Mrs. Russell Essery and the former's mother, Mrs. Jos. Es­ sery, of Chicago, who were on a mo­ tor* trip and visited for several days with Mrs. Wm. Essery,.left Saturday to visit in London. Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Locke aud Mr. and Mrs. Sam’l Rundle, of Detroit, visited over the week-end the guests of Mrs. Egan. Mr. and Mrs. Locke were on a wedding trip and left here for Toronto, Niagara Falls and Buffalo. Mrs. Egan accompanied them to London. Mrs. Chas. Pilon, who has been receiving treatment for the past week in a Cleveland hospital for goitre, underwent an operation Monday morning. The operation was successful and Mrs. Pilon is getting along nicely. Mr. Pilon and Mr. E. J. Christie motored to Cleveland returning Tuesday morning. Dr. and Mrs. G. F. Roulston and Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Beer are leav­ ing the forepart of the week for a motor -trip to Ottawa and the city of Quebec. They expect to attend the celebration at the capital on Dominion Day and from there will go to Montreal and Quebec and will also enjoy a boat trip up the Sauge- nay. They expect to be gone about two weeks. Mr. Geo. Hyndman, who has spent several months with his daughters at Tottenham and Weston, returned to Exeter on Wednesday of last Week. He was accompanied, here by Mrs. Strangways, of Tottenham, Who is remaining for a time and Mr, and Mrs. B. J. Case, o£ Weston, the latter returning Thursday.
