Kinsmen Peewee Hockey League Begins
Monday Evening Four Teams Entered
Bantams Win 7-2 Over
Hensallil Tie Mitchell 3
Clinton Fish and Game Club
Bantam. hockey team opened their
season in Mensal! last Friday
evening and name home with a
7-2 win over the host team.
John Cooper and Gary Gilles led
the Clinton scorers with two goals
oath; Borden McRae, Laurie Col-
quhoun and Doug Macaulay added
singletons.

scored the two goals for Hensel.
There were no penalties called
in the cleanly fought game,

The Bantams, playing their first
home game Tuesday evening, play-
to a 3-3 deadlock with the visit-
ing Mitchell Bantams.
The three Clinton goals were
split among Laurie Colquhoun,
Gary Gilles and Borden McRae.
Mitchell scorers were Robinson
with one and Dietz with two in
the third. period that forced the
tie.
There were six penalties hand-
ed out in the game with each team
getting three.
The Kinsmen Club of Clinton
hockey committee met last night
and drew up 0, schedule for their
Peewee hockey league. Compris-
ing four teams, the schedule starts
Monday evening at the Lions Ar-
ena at seven O'clock.

games and practices,
The Black Hawk team is from
Adastral Park, RCAF Station

Midgets Win First Game
From Mitchell 6 to 3
Clinton Legion Midget hockey
team won their first game of the
season when they defeated Mit-
chell Midgets 6-3 in Clinton Lions
Arena Tuesday evening.
Budd Boyes was the big gun in
the Clinton attack as he scored
four of the six goals. Keith "Red"
Allen got the other two markers.
For Mitchell, Boyd, Worth and
Ahrens were the marksmen.
There were four penalties called
in the contest with hard-hitting
defencernan "Butch" Murney get-
ting all three of Clinton's penal-
ties.

Lose 140 to Zurich
The Clinton Lions Juveniles
started their season on a losing.

short end of a 14-0 score to the
visiting Zurich Lions team.
Zurich scored six goals in the
first period and the Clinton team
never ,got back in the game, al-
though the Zurich goalie, Arnaein
er had to, play tremendous hockey
to preserve his shutout as the
local players never gave up and
tested him on many shots: Bob
Johnston was the big gun for Zur-
ich with four of his team's goals.
Willett, Wagner -and Overholt
each had three goals, and .7ohn,
ston had the extra tally,
Twelve penalties were handed
out in the rough and tumble con-

Harry Lear Named
President of
-Hullett Federation
A family night and turkey ban-
quet was held in Londesboro Com-
munity Hall, last Thursday night
by the directors of Mullett Town-
ship Federation of Agriculture, as
the final event of the year. Reg-
ular business was dealt with and
reports were given by Lloyd Stew-
art for the Hog Producers; Doug-
las Snell for Poultry Producers;
Lorne Hunking for Cream Produc-
ers and George Carter for Beef
Producers.
Lloyd Medd, retiring president,
thanked the directors for their
support in the past year and hop-
ed for the same support for the
new president, Harry Lear. Mr.
Lear spoke briefly, and said he
hoped to see as many of the old
directors as possible back again
for the coming year,
Winners of progressive euchre
were: ladies high, Mrs. Arnold
Jamieson; low, Mrs. Douglas
Snell; men's high, Donald Buch-
anan; men's low, Lorne Hunkink.

Plan for Christmas
The Stanley Ladies' Club met
at the home of Mrs. Victor Taylor,
with Mrs. Frank McGregor, presi-
dent, in charge. A Christmas party
was planned for December 28 in
Baird's School.
Roll call was answered with an
exchange of gifts. Lunch was
served by the hostess and her
group. The Club will send a
Christmas parcel to each of the
sick and shut-ins of the commun-
ity.
The January meeting will be at
the home of Mrs. John McGregor
and roll call will be answered by
naming what you got for Christ-
mas, and a New Year's resolution.

The Londesboro Eager 8 girls
held their regular meeting on
December 3, at the home of Mrs.
Milton Little. Present were
Brenda Kennedy, Wilma and Jane
Albias, Thelma Riley, Bonnie Ev-
ans, Bernice Hunking, Ann Knapp,
Bonnie Kennedy.
The evening was spent working
on laundry bags and they decided
to use their own ideas for the
design on their booklets, Lunch
was served by the leaders, Marge
Carter and Rita Little. Their
next meeting is to be held at the
home of Mrs. Percy Carter.

Grace United Church met on
Wednesday last at the home of
Mrs. Leo Idsinga. The president,
Mrs. Thomas Sowerby was in
charge of the meeting. Mrs, Mary
Manning led in prayer. Mrs. Wil-
mer Harrison read the Scripture
lesson and topic. Yearly reports
were given.
