Woman's Association gave an in-
spiring address on leadership
within the church, She was than-
ked by Mrs. Henry Brindiey. Mrs,
Gordon BacClinchey sang "If there
is Sunshine in Your Heart",
The president, Mrs, Arthur
Grange was in charge of the bus-
iness period, The secretary's re-
port was given by Mrs. William
L. Craig and the financial state-
ment by Mrs. Robert Arthur.
Both were accepted as read. Tea
was served by the Rose Group af-
ter the benediction was pronounc-
ed.
Trustees Acclaimed
A fair attendance was had at
the nomination meeting at the
Auburn Public Library last Fri-
day evening for the annual nom-
ination meeting. The clerk, Clif-
ton McDonald; was• in charge of
the nominations which 'closed at
8.30 p.m: The trustees were re-
turned by acclamation: Ralph
Munro, Bert Craig and William
J, Craig.
The council have put a light
on the Manchester Garden Park
and have moved other street
lights to better locations. They
had the front street re-surfaced
and built over 300 feet of new
sidewalk. They engaged Clifton
McDonald in September as village
clerk.

Lamp Shades and Lighting
An enthusiastic class gathered
to take a new winter project and
to learn how to make lamp shad-
es, The leader, Mrs, Thomas Law-
lor, assisted by Mrs. Gordon Dobie
outlined the project and told of
the different styles that could' be
made during the course.
The different styles of lamps
and the proper lighting were dis-
cussed with illustrations used to
show how a room Should be prop-
erly lighted. The material was
ordered and the next class' will be
held in the new year,
Horticultural
A special Christmas' party will
be held by the Horticultural So-
ciety on December 8 in the Or-
ange Hall. This will be an open
meeting and everyone is welcome.
There will be a door prize, The
election of , officers will be held
and an exchange of Christmas
gifts. A pot-luck lunch will be
served.

The librarian of the Auburn
Public Library requests that all
the county books be in on Satur-
day, December 5.
Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Powell,
Wayne and Robbie, William Hag-
gitt and Rosemarie, spent Sunday
with Mr. and Mrs. William West-
lake at Saltford.
Mr. and Mrs. Louis Blake, Faye
and Maryanne, Brussels, visited
with her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Andrew Kirkconnell, Mary and
Dianne last Sunday.
Christmas Season
Santa and his reindeer arrived
last Saturday on the Manchester
Garden. Park and will soon be il-
luminated in the evening for the
holiday season, The stores in the
village are being decorated end
many homes are taking on the
holiday air. Mrs. Maud Fremlir
has her front sun-porch adorned
with her numerous aprons ,which
she makes during the summer for
the Christmas trade.
Friends in this district of Miss
Ethel Washington will be pleased
to learn that she has returned to
her home with her sister, Mrs.
Amos Andrew and Mr. Andrew
after a short stay in a London
hospital.
4-H Club Meets
The Tidy Teen 4-H Club, Au-
burn met for their fifth meeting
with the president, Margaret Hai-
nes in charge. The 4-H Pledge;
was repeated by all and the bus-
iness meeting was held.
The leader, Mrs. Keith Machan
gave an outline of Achievement
Day and plans were started for
that day. Mrs. Machan told about
shoe storage, where and how to
keep them, and why; also• the use
of shoe packs. Mrs. Ed. Davies
demonstrated how to make a
laundry bag and the girls worked
these for the rest of the meet-
ing.
