IN MEMORIAM
STURGEON—In loving memory of
a dear mother, whom God called
Home, one year ago December
1st, 1958:
"I stood there beside you a year
ago
And prayed that you could stay
But my heart was surely broken
As you quietly passed away.
Your weary eyes forever closed
And your lips forever sealed
God tookyou on a heavenly flight
Where all troubles and grief are
healed.
You had no chance to wish fare-
well
Nor you couldn't say good-bye
You slipped away so quickly
And only God knows why.
My heart still aches with sadness
And many tears still flow
For what it meant to miss you
Mom
No one will ever know,
But I have still one beautiful gift
That you have left with me
To keep and cherish always
That gift "Your Memory."
—Fondly remembered and sadly
missed by her daughter an son-in-
law, Audrey and Eddie Florian.

STURGEON — In loving memory
of a dear mother, Mrs. Jessie
Sturgeon, who passed away one
year ago, December 1st, 1958:
"This year is here with deep re-
gret
It brings back a day I will never
forget
The blow was hard and the shock
severe
I little thought that death was
near
Only those who have suffered can
tell
The pain of parting without fare-
well
I often sit and think of you
The things you used to say
And wonder why you had to die
Without a chance to say good-bye.
Where you sat and talked with me
There's just an empty chair
And the silence now at evening
Seems more than I can bear.
I never fully realized how deeply
one could care
Until I stood alone one night be-
side your empty chair.
But I know that God in His mer-
cy did what He knew was best
And up in Heaven dear mother, you
are having eternal rest,"
—Ever remembered and sadly
missed by her daughter Ilerthena.
47-b
Hoy—In loving memory of Mrs,
W, Hoy, who passed away on No-
vember 28, 1957:
"Two years have passed, dear
Bertha "'
Since you were called away,
How well do I remember
That sad and weary day."
—Ever remembered by William
Hoy and family, 47p
Sturgeon—In loving memory of
a dear mother, Mrs. Jessie Stur-
geon, Hayfield:
"One year ago today I stood by
your bed
Dear Mother, and watched you
sleep away.
'You didn't wave your hand nor
say Good-Bye.
God took you to His eternal home
on high.
He freed you from your sorrows
and pain,
But I'd give the world to have
you back, again,
He has His ways and He knows
best
But in my aching heart, I know
Mother, you have found sweet
rest,"
---Ever remembered by daughter,
soft-in-law and granddaughter,
Emma, Jim and Berthena Cruick-
shank. 47.1)
Concert Band Will
Play At Seaforth
Santa Claus Parade
Clinton Community Concert
Band will play in the Santa Claus
Parade at Seaforth this Satur-
day, November 28. They are one
of four bands taking part. Trans-
portation for the band has been
arranged for, and departure time
is 1 p.m. sharp from the Legion
Hall by bus.
Junior .and senior members and
majorettes are requested to be
certain to attend this parade, and
are reminded to bring their music
lyres and Bennett Band Books,
The Clinton band will also play
for the Santa Claus Parade in
Clinton on. Saturday, December
12. Future plans include a variety
band concert sometime in Feb-
ruary, with members performing
individually as well as with the
band.
Recently joining the band. have
been musicians from Goderich;
Charles Woods, bandmaster of the
Goderich Bluewater Band, and
some juniors, who played at the
practice Tuesday night. Local
town bandsmen are asked to come
out and join with these people
who are taking their valuable
time to help the Clinton Concert
Band.
Problems reported by the Band
committee to date are uniforms
for next summer (the band must
not only play well, but have a
good appearance) and the loan or
donation of instruments, with or
without players themselves to be
used in the band. Any instru-
ments not being used at present
could be put to very good use
by band members.
Attending last practice were 30
junior members and four adults.
Some juniors were absent due to
examinations. Bandmaster Geo-
rge Wench and the band commit-
tee hopes to see more of the local
musicians in the band in the near
future.
