was taken by Bill Coultes follow
ed by the singing of "Take Time
to be Holy". The responsive read-
ing was read by Muriel Gowdy.
Everyone enjoyed the singing of
the quartet which consisted of
Ted Dunn, George Turner, Stan-
ley Johns and Lloyd Holland.
Luke 10: 25-37 was read by Bill
Bryson. Murray Hoover led in
prayer. Rev. Henry. A. Funge,
Londesbero delivered the message
for the evening followed by the
benediction given by the Rev. A.
J. McKim.
A fireside service 'was held aft-
er the evening service. Bob South-
cote Exeter, lead a discussion on
the Canada Temperance Act. A
snack of donuts and coffee was
served,
,Mrs. William Gross
(By our Auburn correspondent)
This district was shocked to
learn that Mrs. William Gross had
passed away suddenly at the age
of 58 years, in Clinton Public
Hospital. She was the daughter
of 'the late Charles Regale and
Caroline Eggert and was born in
McKillop township.
On June 28, 1923, she was mar-
ried by Rev. G. L. Gross to Wil-
liam Gross, Hullett townsip. Fol-
lowing their marriage they took
up residence on the Auburn-Blyth
Road, and lived in this community
ever since.
She was a member of Knox Un-
ited Church, the Woman's Assoc-
iation and the Auburn Women's
Institute..
Besides her sorrowing :husband
she is survived by five sons, Har-
old and Carmen, Auburn; Clayton,
Ronald, Gordon and one daughter
all at home; also three grand-
children; three sisters, Mrs. Wes.
(Elmina) Fisher, Mitchell; Mrs.
William (Annie) Hoege, Seaforth;
Mrs. Alex (Adeline) Stokopf, Mit-
chell; four brothers, Clarence,
George, Harry and Edward all of
McKillop,
The largely attended funeral
was held on Saturday afternoon,
November 14, at the S. Keith Ar-
thur funeral home, conducted by
Rev. R. M.. Sweeney, assisted by
Rev. G. L. Gross, Winghane Mrs.
Betty Wilkin sang a solo accomp-
anied:by her mother, Mrs. William
J. Craig.
Burial took place at Union Cem-
etery, Blyth. Pallbearers were
John Deer, Bert Daer, Edward
East, Sydney McClinchey, Major
Youngblut and Wilfred Plunkett.
Flowerbearers Were six nephews,
Gordon Muegge, Ralph Mulhol-
land, Gerald Stokopf, Aaron
Doerr, Lewis Hoegy and Donald
Muegge. The beautiful floral
tributes were a silent reminder of
the high esteem in which she was
held in this district.
Volley Ball Team
Yields To Top
Kingsville Team
Clinton Junior Girls Volleyball
team took part' in the annual
tournament held in Thames Hall
and the Teachers' College at Lon-
don on Saturday. This is the
Western Ontario Secondary
Schools Association tournament.
Meeting Strathroy first the
Clinton team toppled them with
a 15-3 and a 15-1 pair of victor-
ies, only to be defeated at the
hands of the Kingsville team with
scores of 15-8, 4-15 and 15-3.
Kingsville went on to win the
"B" title after defeating Alma
College in the finals.
The Senior "B" champions are
the Goderioh team.

Huron Lodge No. 377 of the
Ladies Orange Benevolent Assoc-
iation held their regular card
party on Tuesday, November 17
with a good attendance. Prize-
winners were: ladies high, Mrs.
Fred Pepper; lone hands, Mrs.
Wi Liam McItwain; low, Miss
Clara Harrison; men's high, Fred
Pepper; lone hands, Lloyd Miller;
low, Alex McMichael.
Plans were made for another
party on Tuesday, December 1.
Everyone is invited to a dance in
the Legion Memorial Hall, Kirk
Street, Clinton on November 27,
with Slim Boucher and his Gold-
en Prairie Cowboys. Please watch

Mrs. Hugh King
(By our Auburn correspondent)
Mrs. Hugh Xing passed away in
St. Mary's Hospital, London, on
Sunday, November 15, in her 83rd
year. Mrs. King was the former
Ann Robinson and was born at
Kingsbridge, Ontario, the daugh-
ter of the late Charles Robinson
and Mary Ann Darning, She re-
sided in the St. Augustine dis-
trict all her life.
Following the death of her hus-
band 11 years ago she resided at
the rest home in. Lucknow for
some time, She is a member of
the St Augustine Roman Catho-
lic Church,
She is survived by two sots,
Charles, Detroit; Morgan, London;
two daughters, Mrs. Eva Fiehan
and Mrs. Ann. Healy both of De-
troit; also seven grandehildren.
Reqieurn High Mass will be held
at St. Augustine RC Church, on
Wednesday at 10 am. The body
is resting at the 3. Keith Arthur
funeral home.
