Talk By Mrs. Mills
The Woman's Association of
Ontario Street United Church met
in the parlour. Past persident,
Mrs. W. S. R. Holmes presided
owing to the absence of the pres-
ident. Devotional period was con-
ducted by Mrs. M. Wiltse, on the
theme: "The coming of the King-
dom."
Mrs. G. Mills gave a very infor-
mative talk on how to help the
disturbed in Africa, and the dis-
turbing factor of the people in
Africa, being no better than per-
sons they come in contact with.
Mrs. W. VanEgmond gave the
highlights of the sectional meet-
ing held in Constance. Two de-
lightful solos were sung by Mrs.
J. McKnight, accompanied by
Mrs. E. Radford. Two minutes
silence was observed in memory
of two very faithful members,
the late Mrs. Townsend and Mrs.
13. J. Gibbings.

A surprise dinner was held at
the Hotel Clinton in honour of Mr.
and Mrs. S. Peter Young, Goder-
ich, on the occasion of their 45th
wedding anniversary. Upon, ar-
rival of the guests of honour, they
were presented with a corsage
and a boutonierre, and were ush-
ered to the head table which was
centred with an anniversary cake,
by Mr. Young's brother and sister-
in,law, Mr. and 'Mrs. James
Young, Goderich. J, Young acted
as groomsman for his brother at
the wedding on November 11,
1,914.
After a delicious turkey dinner,
James Young proposed a toast to
the happy -couple, and the groom
of 45 Years replied, thanking ev-
eryone responsible for the -.affair,
County Home Aux.

For New Projects
Huron County Home Auxiliary
met Monday afternoon at the
Home, with Mrs. F. G. Thompson
in the chair. Mrs McAdam read
the minutes and Mrs. V. Habgood
gave treasurer's report.
Mrs. H Johnston reported on
crafts and has several ladies wor-
king on quilts, also on the viist to
BrusSels to the Women's Institute
county rally as guests to answer
questions on the needs of the re-
sidents at the Home. Mr, John-
ston suggested as a project for the
WI in the county, an 'inter-corn,
pillows for bed patients who are
unable to attend church services
and concerts. It had interested
them and they are to report to
him later.
The next :meeting will be on
Monday, January 1,8.
Slides were shown of the mon-
.thly birthday ,:pai,,ties •which have
been such a success, efforts are
being made to keep a record of
slides for' future entertainments.
The Walton Institute is entertain-
ing on Wedn&sday for November
birthday party.
A social half hour was enjoyed
over a cup of tea.
Pictures were taken, and the
honoured guests received many
lovely gifts, Progressive euchre
was played and prizes went to
Mrs. Alien Betties, James Young,
Goderich Township; high lady and
nian; Mrs. Blanche Young and
Kenneth Taylor, low lady and
gentleman.
Mr. and Mrs. Young were both
born and raised in Goderich Town-
ship. She was formerly Elmo
Betties, daughter of the late Mr.
and Mrs, Thomas Betties. He
was the son of the late Mr, and
Mrs. George Young. They have
three children, Mrs. Graham (Ol-
ive) Johnston, Clinton; James,
Goderich Township; Mrs, Harold
(Bessie) Black, Clinton; seven
grandchildren and one great
grandchild, Robert, son of Mr, and
Mrs. Kenneth Taylor, Clinton.
Guests Of the evening were Mr.
and Mrs, Young's brothers and
sisters-in-law. Mrs Young's sis-
ter, Mrs. Rhoda Jordan, Vancou-
ver, and her brother, Erland Bet-
ties, Toronto, were unable to at-
tend,
