To Live at Drysdale
MR. and MRS. RICHARD KAPTEIN, Drysdale, were
married in Clinton Christian Reformed Church on Friday
afternoon, September 18, 1959, by the Rev. Van Eek,
Exeter. The bride is Agnes Buruma, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Cornelius Buruma, Clinton and the groom's
parents are Mr. and Mrs: Richard Kaptein, Lisse, Hol-

Mr, and Mrs. Ross Scott return-
ed home on Tuesday from an ex-
tended trip to Western canada.
Mrs. A. 1111cQueen and Miss Mar-
garet McQueen were recent guests
with friends in London and Sea-

tion has accepted an invitation to

having fallen and injured his knee.

Mrs. Elgin Thomson on Sunday.

Shower Bride,Elect
A large crowd of neighbours,
friends and relatives gathered in
the school room of the United
Church on Monday evening, and
presented lovely gifts to Miss Alice
Caldwell, RN. Miss Caldwell's
wedding Will' take place on Satur-
day, October 10.
A short program consisting of
a contest was held by Mrs. Frank
McGregor. Miss Joan McCowan
played a piano solo. Gaye Elliott
played an accordion selection, and
an other contest was held by Mrs.
Mel Graham.
Assisting the bride-elect in op-
ening gifts were her mother, Miss
Jean Rathwell, Mrs. S. Broad-
foot. Lunch was served.
Mr. and Mrs, Arnold Hender-
son and Mr and Mrs. William
Henderson and family, Ingersoll,
Mr, and Mrs, Harold Scott and
Mr, and Mrs. Gerald Shalkletan,
Delmont, spent Sunday with Mr
and Mrs, Victor Hargreaves.

The 32nd Annrversary Ser-
vices were held at Grace United
Church, Porter's Hill, on Sunday,
September 27, The church was
beautifully decorated with flowers
for the special occasion.
The morning service congrega-
tion filled the church, as the min-
ister, Rev, John W, Patrick, spoke
on "The whole family of God, in
heaven and earth," Ephesians 3:
14, 15.
In the evening service, which
was also very well attended, Rev.
Ronald Sweeney, Auburn, was
guest speaker. His text, "Wash
you, make you clean," was from
Isaiah 1: 16.
Miss Clara Clark was guest sol-
oist in the morning, and Mrs. John
Westbrook was guest soloist in
the evening. The choir also sang
special selections under the direc-
tion of the church organist, Mrs.
Molly Cox.
Kaptein—Buruma
Wedding vows were spoken
in the Christian Reformed
Church, Clinton, on Saturday
afternoon, September 18, by
Miss Agnes Buruma and Rich-
ard Kaptein, Zurich.
The bride is a daughter of
Mr. and rs, Cornelius Buruma,
Clinton. The bridegroom's par-
ents are Mr. and Mrs. Richard
Kaptein, Lisse, Holland. Rev.
A. G. Van Eek, Exeter, per-
formed the ceremony.
The bride was given in mar-
riage by her father. She wore a
floor-length gown of white lace,
fashioned with scalloped neck-
line and long sleeves'. The full
skirt had a front panel of lace,
and net. Her elbow-length lace-
trimmed veil was held by a
headdress of seed pearls. She
carried a spray of white gladioli.
The maid of honor, Miss Ev-
elyn Stryker, Brucefield, wore
a waltz-length gown of shrimp-
colored satin with lace-topped
fitted bodice and full skirt, and
matching feather hat. Her bou-
quet was of blue gladioli.

Bridesmaids, Miss Betty Sja-
arda, Clinton, and Miss Helen
Idsinga, Bayfield, wore waltz-
length dresses of royal blue lace
over taffeta, with matching fea-
ther hats, and carried blue glad-
ioli.
The flower-girl, Sandra Bur-
uma, sister of the bride, wore
a frock of white organdie over
shrimp colored satin with a bow-
knot of flowers.
Groomsman was Dick Koning,
Hensall. Ushers were Look Ver-
qunst, brother-in-law of the
bridegroom, and Keith Kaptein,
the bridegroom's brother.
The wedding music was play-
ed by J. Roorda. The soloist
Mrs. J. Zondervan, sang "The
Holy City".
Reception was in the church
parlors, where gladioli and ferns
formed the decorations. The
bride's mother was gowned in
aqua crepe with pearl sequins,
and she wore a corsage of pink
carnations. Guests were pres-
ent from Sarnia, London, Kit-
chener, New Dundee, Hamilton,
Brucefield, Hensall, Bayfield
and Listowel,
Mr. and Mrs. Kaptein will re-
side in Drysdale.
