their three boys, London; Kenneth
Carter, who is teaching at Lions
Head and Miss Dorothy Johnson,
who is teaching at Barrie.
Guardsman Ronald Nice, his
wife and year-old son arrived
home from Germany on Monday
by plane. Mr. Nice has been over-
seas for two years with the 2nd
Company Canadian Guards. He
reports to Petawawa on Saturday,
while his wife and son stay with
his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leslie
Nice, Huron Street.

wood, spent last weekend with
Mr, and Mrs, Albert Bond.
Mrs, Hilda, Thurlow, Mr, Joe

last week with the latter's cousin,
Miss Evelyn Hall.
Dr, and Mrs. K. McKnight,
Paul and Anne, Toronto, have
been recent guests at the home of
Mrs. McKnight's parents, Judge
and Mrs. F. Fingland.
Elwin Merrill and William Wil-
son, London, spent last week on
vacation in the north, crossing
by way of Manitoulin Island at
Sault Ste, Marie and parts of
Michigan,

W-W SUNDAY SCHOOL
ARRANGE RALLY DAY
The first meeting of the Sun-
day School Executive of Wesley-
Willis United Church was held
Tuesday evening, September 15,
with 11 members present. Ron
Steepe was in charge and opened
the meeting with prayer.
Services for Rally Day, on Sept-
ember 27, were discussed. Bibles
are to be ordered for the class
graduating from the primary.
Mrs. Holland read a report giv-
en her by Mrs. F. Fingland on the
vacation school held early in July.
This school was most successful
and a hearty vote of thanks from
the executive goes to Mrs. Fing-
land and her helpers.
There were discussions on Sun-
day School helps teachers needed
and the possibility of arranging
for a weekend teacher training at
Five Oaks in the spring.

Church met at the home of Mrs.
R. W. McKenzie who presided.
The devotional period from Psalm
67 was given by Mrs. Alice Dun-
bar.
A large sized sweater for an
Indian boy in the church school
will be purchased for the supply
allocation. Mrs. William Blacker
reviewed the chapter on "Our
Western Synods" from the study
book. Roll call was answered by
repeating a verse on prayer.
A message from the Moderator
of the church, Dr. Nimmo, was
given by Mrs, Ed Farquhar who
later made an appeal for more
subscriptions to Glad Tidings.
Highlights of the recent Huron
Presbyterial were told by Mrs. D.
J. Lane, who praised the message
of Miss Hilda Hermanson, a mis-
sionary on furlough from Formo-
sa.

Mothers Study Group
Views Health Films
At September Meeting
The Mothers Study Group of
Wesley-Willis United Church held
its regular meeting on Tuesday
evening, September 22, in the ch-
urch parlour, with 14 present.
Mrs. Wilfred Jervis was in charge
of the meeting. Two films on
health and youth centres were
shown with Mrs. Norman Holland
leading in discussion, Lunch was
served by the hostesses, Mrs. Rob-
ert Wright and Mrs. Edwin Coop-
er.

CLINTONIAN CLUB MEETS
The September meeting of the
Clintonian Club was held in the
Council Charmber on Wednesday,
September 16. Mrs. Ed Welsh,
first vice-president was in the
chair. Mrs. William Watkins gave
two readings. Bingo was enjoyed
by all.
Frank M. MacDonald
Frank M. MacDonald, 75, RR
4, Clinton, died in the Clinton
Public Hospital, Monday, Sept-
ember 21. He was born in. Gode-
rich Township, a son of the late
Mr. and Mrs. James MacDonald.
He krrned all his life in Hullett
Townhip until retiring in July.
Surviving besides his wife, the
former Edna Hudie, are two sons,
Gordon, at home and Fred, Clin-
ton; one daughter, Mrs.. Wilfred
(Edna) Denomme, Goderich;
three brothers, Glen, Detroit; Col-
in and James and one sister, Mrs.
Alda Gray, all of Goderich Town-
ship.
Service was from the Beattie
funeral home, 55 Rattenbury St-
reet E., Clinton, Wednesday after-
noon by the Rev. D. J. Lane. Bur-
ial in Clinton Cemetery.
