G. Mickles, Det- roit, visited the Pickett family on Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. John Perdue, RR 3, Clinton, will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on Tuesday, September 29. A family dinner will be held on Sunday, September 27. Weekend visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Carter were: Mr. and Mrs. Benson Moore and their three boys, London; Kenneth Carter, who is teaching at Lions Head and Miss Dorothy Johnson, who is teaching at Barrie. Guardsman Ronald Nice, his wife and year-old son arrived home from Germany on Monday by plane. Mr. Nice has been over- seas for two years with the 2nd Company Canadian Guards. He reports to Petawawa on Saturday, while his wife and son stay with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Nice, Huron Street. Welcome to . . . Mr. and Mrs. Laurence Haugh- ton, Terence and. Elwin Merrill and William Wil- son, London, spent last week on vacation in the north, crossing by way of Manitoulin Island at Sault Ste, Marie and parts of Michigan, --o W-W SUNDAY SCHOOL ARRANGE RALLY DAY The first meeting of the Sun- day School Executive of Wesley- Willis United Church was held Tuesday evening, September 15, with 11 members present. Ron Steepe was in charge and opened the meeting with prayer. Services for Rally Day, on Sept- ember 27, were discussed. Bibles are to be ordered for the class graduating from the primary. Mrs. Holland read a report giv- en her by Mrs. F. Fingland on the vacation school held early in July. This school was most successful and a hearty vote of thanks from the executive goes to Mrs. Fing- land and her helpers. Mrs. William Blacker reviewed the chapter on "Our Western Synods" from the study book. Roll call was answered by repeating a verse on prayer. Mrs. Wilfred Jervis was in charge of the meeting. Mrs. William Watkins gave two readings. Bingo was enjoyed by all. Frank M. MacDonald Frank M. MacDonald, 75, RR 4, Clinton, died in the Clinton Public Hospital, Monday, Sept- ember 21. He was born in. Gode- rich Township, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. James MacDonald. He krrned all his life in Hullett Townhip until retiring in July. Surviving besides his wife, the former Edna Hudie, are two sons, Gordon, at home and Fred, Clin- ton; one daughter, Mrs.. Wilfred (Edna) Denomme, Goderich; three brothers, Glen, Detroit; Col- in and James and one sister, Mrs. Alda Gray, all of Goderich Town- ship.
