friend of L. H. D. McLeod and,
with Mrs. MacLeod they visited
him at Westminster Hospital,

Karen, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. R. Roy Fitzsimons, and
Catherine Ann, daughter of Corp-
oral and Mrs. Lloyd Westlake,
each underwent a tonsilectomy in
Clinton Public Hospital on Thurs-
day last. They occupied the same
room.
William Knox, Beachville, was
the guest of Rev. E. 3. B, Har-
rison on Sunday. Also calling at
the rectory on Sunday afternoon
on route home from a vacation
were Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Peters
and children, Roger, Garry and
Susan, Woodstock.

Mavis, Willowdale, spent the Civic
Holiday with Mr. and Mrs. E. A.
Featherston. Sonya, who had been
visiting her grandparents return-
ed with her father and Mavis re-
mained here.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Schafheitlin,
Judy, Susie and Don who have
been the guests of Mrs. Schaf-
heitlin's mother, Mrs. W. H. Rob-
inson, for last week returned to
their home in Niagara Fails on
Sunday.

sor, were here for the weekend.
On their return they were accom-
panied by Mrs. Pye's father and

pied William Heard's cottage for
six weeks,
Mr. and Mrs. 3. Pasman, Robert
and Brian, Niagara Falls, visited
her parents, Rev, and Mrs. Ivor

ust. Rev. and Mrs. Ivor Boden-
ham left on Saturday to attend
the Canadian Keswick Conference
August 8 to 15.
Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Kirkham
returned to London on Saturday
August 1, after a week's vaca-
tion with her parents, Mr. and
Mrs, Emerson Heard. They mot-
ored to Oustead with them for a
few days, returning to the vill-
age on Thursday,
Mr, and Mrs. John Apfeibeck
and two younger children, Billy
and Linda called on friends in the
village on Wednesday. They stay-
ed with Mr. and Mrs. John Pear-
son over Tuesday night en route
for a holiday at Denby, returning
by Algonquin Park and Coiling-
wood.

Tuesday to visit her son, George

sored a treat for 39 Oder citizens
from the Huron County Home on
Monday evening. Eight cars
brought them over to enjoy the
out door movies at Pioneer Park.

ficiated at the service of Holy
Baptism in Trinity Church on
Sunday afternoon, August 2, for
the children of Mr. and Mrs.
Lloyd C. Winhold (nee Gerald-
ine Marie Castle), London.. They
are Doreen Laura, Donald Clif-
ford, Elaine Marion and Robert
Harold. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas
William Castle Jr.; are the god-
parents. •

The annual meeting of Pioneer
Park Association was called to
order by the president J, M. St-
ewart, in the town hall, Bayfield,
Friday evening, There was an at-
tendance of 16.
The minutes were read by Dr,
R, Ce Hunter, Mrs. 3, B. Hovey
gave the treasurer's report as
audited by R. Roy Fitzsimons, It
showed four new memberships,
Mrs. C. R. Will, convener of the
rummage sale reported receipts
$215.35 this year. She expressed
thanks to all who by contributing
or assisting had made the affair a
'success and especially to 3, M.
Stewart, S. H. Bryant, Hales
Dresser and H. H. Ormond,
Mrs. Jessie Metcalf was ap-
pointed convener for the next
year and the rummage sale date
set for July 19, 1960.
The matter of joint membership
'was brought up. and, the presi-
dent advised the meeting that at
a directors meeting joint mem-
bership was defined as including
husband and wife with votes for
each.
The date of the next annual
meeting was set for •Friday, Aug-
ust 5, 1960, hi the town hall.
Three new directors to serve
for three-year term, J, M. Stew-
art, Mrs. J. MacKenzie and G. M.
Galbraith (as brought in by the
nominating committee, Rev. F. H.
Paull and Lloyd Makins) were el-
ected,
Gordon Pfaff, after a discus-
sion regarding the need for larg-
er collection to cover the cost of
films projected each week by
Alan Galbraith, offered to make
a recording to be played every
Thursday night cattlining the
purpose of Pioneer Park and the
need for money, The Rev. F, H.
Paull spoke strongly in favour of
the Monday night films (N,F.B.
releases) and there was a discus-
sion regarding ways and means
of interesting the public in these
fine educational films.
The changing of the movie
screen to another location on the
park was also discussed, and a
committee, 0, M. Galbraith, Dr,
A, L, Chapman and J. M. Stewart
appointed to investigate the mat-
ter and report to the Board of
Directors,
Votes of thanks were tender-
ed to G. M, Galbraith who chose
the Thursday night films and ad-
vertised them, to Alan Galbraith
Who projected them, to R, Roy
Fitzsimons, auditor; to Mate C.
R. Wills, convener of the rum-
mage sale; Mrs. M, Ailcenhead,
who compiled and sent out let-
ters soliciting donations for the
'rummage sale; Dr. A. L. Aiken-
bead, who made and erected the
sign "Pioneer Park" at the site;
the Lions Club for projecting
Monday night films.
At the Board of Directors meet-
