7,000 Names on CTA Petition Already,
Expect 10,000 By Close of Drive
to be completed this week.
The committee chairman said
the campaign to secure names for
the petition had "snowballed" and
"exceeded all our expectations."
"According to the last federal
voters list," he said, "we need
some 6,700 names. We've already
got over 7,000 and I'm anticipat-
ing we'll end up with over 10,000,"
Final cut off date for the drive
to collect names for the petition
is July 31, he added, Fifty can-
vassers who have been collecting
signatures over the past weeks
will continue their efforts until
then.
The committee chairman said
he was particularly pleased that
"many, many ministers" in the
county had seen fit to support the
campaign.
"It's not just a wet-dry vote,"
he said. "Our chief aim is to give
the police of Huron County con-
trol over juvenile drinking and
rowdyism, We want our county
on the same basis as the rest of
the province,"

The fireman's hat is a symbol of protection.
So is your fire insurance policy.
When fire strikes, alert firemen are soon on their way,
accepting risks themselves to protect your life and property.
And when fire strikes, fire insurance steps in to
offset disastrous financial loss.
Every week, some ,1,400 fires break out across Canada.
Companies writing fire insurance pay out more than
one hundred million dollars annually in claims. And yet virtually
all the fires which take the lives of more than
500 Canadians each year are preventable.
Fire insurance safeguards your property.
But only you can guarantee against loss of life.
Safety pays dividends... saves lives, helps
to lower your insurance costs, Be Careful.
