A parish picnic will be held on
August 9, in Bayfield. A passage
from sacred Scripture was read
by the spiritual director Father
Reid-Lewis, The lunch hostesses
for the meeting were Mrs, W, L.
Monaghan, Mrs A Goldsworthy
and Mrs. B. -Gliddon. Mrs.. William
Watkins was in charge of the very
entertaining part of the meeting.

The bride, given in marriage by
her father, wore a floor-length
gown of white nylon net and Chan-
tilly lace featuring a Sabrina neck-
line and long lily-point sleeves,
The bouffant skirt of net and lace
was worn over bridal satin. A
tiara of mother-of-pearl sequins
and rhinestones held her fingertip
veil. She carried a white Bible
and a cascade bouquet of Sweet-
heart roses and Pinocchio chrysan-
themums.
Miss Ruth Hemingway was maid
of honor for her sister, wearing a
ballerina-length harem dress of

INDOORS PICNIC
The nursery and baby band of
Wesley-Willis United Church held
a picnic at the home of Mrs. Wil-
liam Hanly, RR 5, Clinton, on
Wednesday, June 24. Because of
the rain the picnic was held in-
doors. The children was enter-
tained with toys, balloons, drills
and games. Each child was pre-
sented 'with an Union Jack in com-
memoration of the visit of Queen
Elizabeth.
Picnic lunch was served with
ice-cream cones for the children.

Closes For Summer
With Social Event
The Wesley-Willis Woman's As-
sociation held their closing sum-
mer meeting at the church in the
form of a strawberry social and
entertained the shut-ins and other
ladies of the congregation. Presi-
dent Mrs. Nediger, presided.
The pianist Mrs. Norman Shep-
herd played as the members and
guests gathered. Devotions from
the Sermon on the Mount was very
ably taken by Mrs. Norman Hol-
land Mrs. W. Nott led in prayer.
A silence was observed in mem-
ory of Mrs. 3. Innis and Mrs. Dal-
rymple, Brucefield, a former mem-
ber of the society.
A poem entitled 'The Ladies
Aid", written many years ago, was
read by Mrs. Nediger. A sing-
song was led by Mrs Hearn, A
play entitled 'The Strike of the
Parsonage Committe of the Ladies
Aid", was put on by several lad-
ies of the Ontario Street United
Church. This was very interest-
ing. true to life and well enacted.
A hearty vote of appreciation was
moved for the good neighborly
spirit and work.
A dainty strawberry tea was
served around little tables daintily
decorated with white linens and
summer flowers. Mrs. M. Nedi-
ger moved amid the tea tables
dressed in old time costume and
carried a beautiful pioneer black
parasol, embroidered and edged
with deep black lace, singing "0
what a beautiful Day." Everyone
enjoyed the social hour.
