Tenders are invited by the Township of Tuckersmith
for 'the construction on of the Nott Municipal 'Drains
under the authority of By-Law No. 4, 1959. Separate
tenders plainly marked as to contents will be received
by the Reeve, Ivan Forsyth, RR 2, Kippen, Ontario, up
to 9 p.m. (E,D.S.T.) June 15th, 1959, as follows:
(1) For the construction of 1,350 lineal feet open
work, approximately 14,160 cu. yds.
(2) For the construction of 21,149 lineal feet closed
drain, 14 catch basins.
Township will supply tile and corrugated pipe re-
quired and contractors will supply all other requirements.
Marked cheques for 10% of the amount of tender
must accompany each tender or tender will not be con-
sidered.
Plans and specifications may be seen at the. Reeve's
office,

were married in St. Paul's Anglican Church, Clinton, on
Saturday, May 6, 1959, by the Rev. C. S. Inder. The bride
is Pauline Marie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Tay-
lor, Isaac Street, Clinton, and the groom is the son of
Mr. and Mrs. John Gordner, RR 3, Mitchell, The young
couple plan to live in Mitchell.

Named Moderator
The Rev. Dr. Alexander Nimmo,
Wingharn, was named moderator
of the .85th general assembly of
the Presbyterian Church in Can-
ado,. Dr. Nitruno won the post on
the first ballot over ministers front
Fort William and Port Credit.
Dr. Minnie has been moderator
of the synod of Hamilton and Lon-
don and is a member of the Pres-
byterian College's senate, He came
from Belfast hi 1925, and was or-
dained in his first charge of More-
wood and Russell, Ontario.

Report of the zone rally in Sea-
forth on May 13 was given by
Mrs. Cameron Proctor. The speak-

Regional vice-president of Ladies
Auxiliary to Canadian Legion. of
Windsor. Zone commander, Mrs.
Mary McCann reported Zone Cl
had raised $27,650 in 1958. Sc-
reens are to be bought for kit-
chen windows, $50 was donated
to the swimming pool fund,
The annual picnic of Auxiliary
and Legion will be held in Jowett's
Grove, Hayfield on July 19, cars
leaving at 2 p,m. Anyone wanting
rides contact the president, Mrs.
Cameron Proctor, Mrs. William
Harris, Mrs. Grant Stirling and
Mrs. William Holland are sport
conveners.
The zone sports committee re-
ported a lawn bowling tournament
on August 22. An invitation to
131yth for a social evening on July
22 was accepted. Members will
be contacted.
In the absence of Mrs. Kelso
Streets, the $6 draw was not cl-
aimed making it $8 for the Sept-
ember meeting. The mystery prize
was won by Mrs. Sam McClung,
Brucefield. Mrs. E. Porter's group
served lunch. The next meeting
will be held in September.

Huron Grand Jury
Endorses New
'Home Addition
Regular fire drills and emerg-
ency procedure for the Huron
County Home were recommended
by the grand jury sitting in Gode-
rich this week under the juris-
diction of Judge Frank Fingland.
The jury members toured the
county home, and endorsed the
decision of the county council to
build a new addition to the home.
The existing building has a cap-
acity of 125, and currently houses
98 residents.
The jury found that recommen-
dations of the grand jury of Jan-
uary 28, 1957, had been taken
care of, and expressed itself as
impressed with the cleanliness, ac-
commodations and pleasant atmos-
phere created by the staff at the
county home, and commended Har-
vey Johnston and 'his staff for the
manner in which the'-property is
managed.
Jury members were Dorothy At-
field, Robert Carter, Kenneth
Cooke, Grace Craig, Peter Dukilop,
Mary Felker, Neville Forbes,
Gwen Fraser, Gordon Heywood,
Kenneth Rogerson, Alf Scotchmer
and Charles Sims.

Jehovah's Witnesses
Plan Mitchell Rally
Hart McNally, presiding minist-
er of the local congregation of
Jehovah's Witnesses announces
that plans are completed for the
three-day assembly being held this
weekend in Mitchell memorial ar-
ena. Arrangements are made for
all Jehovah's Witnesses in this
district to attend.
To-night, Thursday, a film on
"Happiness of New World Assem-
bly" will be shown in the King-
dom Hall, Clinton, commencing at
8 p.m.
At The Hospital
Fred Anderson, 86, of RR 5,
Clinton, is a patient in Clinton
Public Hospital since June 1, with
a fractured knee. Mr. Anderson
had tied up a heifer and the ani-
mal struggled against the rope,
Mr. Anderson saw the calf was
strangling and went to help, but
the animal fell against him and
crushed the knee, He is wearing
a east and will be hospitalized
for some time.
Mrs, James Wilson, who has been in hospital with an injured
right wrist and right hip, is pro-
gressing well.
Arthur Hallam, RR 1, Auburn,
had a fractured right wrist treated
and was released from hospital
on June 1.
Mrs. Mildred Blake, RR 3, Walt-
on, had a fractured right ankle
treated on June 5,
Miss Marilyn Daer, RR 1, Au-
burn, suffered a slight fracture of
a finger on her right hand while
playing ball at school, and was
treated at hospital on June 6.
Aileen Craig, Clinton, suffered
a sprained left ankle at her home
on June 6. It was x-rayed at the
hospital, and strapped.
Paul Armstead, Goderieh, who
was injured in a car accident sev-
eral weeks ago (which proved fat-
al to William Hayter), was releas-
ed from hospital on May 22.
Wed at Londesboro
MR. AND MRS. JOHN BUURS were married in
Londesboro United Church. The bride is Phyllis Isabel,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James W. McCool, Londesboro,
and the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Klaas
Buurs, Broeken Waterland, Holland. After a wedding
trip through points in Northern Ontario, the couple will

In Huron Presbytery
One of the most important fun-
ctions of the London Conference
of the United Church of Canada
35th annual meeting in Sarnia,
was the designation of clergy in
new charges. Some 94 charges
were affected, In Huron, the Rev.
R. M. Sweeney was named in the
committee's report for Auburn; the
Rev. R. C. Winlaw for Hensall
and the Rev. Henry A. Funge,
Londesboro.
