Buurs--McCool
(By our Londesboro correspon-
dent)
Londesboro United Church was
the scene on May 30, of a pretty
wedding, when Phyllis Isabelle
McCool exchanged wedding vows
with John G. Buurs, in a double
ring ceremony. Rev. J. T. White
officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. James McCool, Londes-
bore, and the groom is the son of
Mrs. Adriaan Buurs, and the :late
Mr. K. Buurs, Eiland 318 Brock,
in Waterland North Holland,
The church was tastefully dec-
orated with mauve lilacs and yel-
low tulips. Miss Margaret Jack-
son of Auburn, officiated at the
organ.
The bride entered the church on
the arm of her father, dressed in
a hooped skirt of white chantilly
lace with bolero of lace and net
with pearl and rhinestone trim-
mings:- A floor length veil was
held in place by a headdress of
pearls and rhinestones. She car-
ried a bouquet of pink roses and
stepanotis.
Bridal attendants were Mrs. B.
A, Zablocki, Clinton, wearing a
lilac and white figured street-leng-
th dress with lilac headdress and
a 'bouquet of yellow roses. Junior
bridesmaidS were Miss Linda Wel-
banks and Miss Shirley Riley, sim-
ilarly dressed in green and white
figured nylon with garlands of
white lilacs. They carried nose-
gays of yellow 'mums. Ringbear-
er was Master Ricky Zablocki and
Master Clayton Riley was train
bearer.
Archie Riley supported the
groom. Ushers were Kenneth
Thompson, Seaforth, and Robert
Riley, Hullett Township.
The bride's mother wore dusty
rose lace with black accessories
and corsage of white carnations.
Mrs. Ernest Dale, stand-in moth-
er for the groom, wore pale blue
with white accessories and corsage
of white carnations.
Guests were present from Wood-
stock, Toronto, London, Seaforth,
Blyth and Londesboro. About 55
guests partook of a sumptuous tur-
key dinner served by the Hotel
Clinton, at Clinton.
The happy couple left for a hon-
eymoon in Northern Ontario. The
bride's travelling costume was a
pink and white figured nylon with
pink accessories, fur stole and an
orchid corsage.
