Public Speakers
The Wesley-Willis Good Will
Club held their regular meeting
in the church parlour on Tuesday
evening, May 12, The president,
Mrs. H. G. Manning, presided.
Mrs, Paisley read the Scripture
lesson, Genesis 35: 1.15 and a read-
ing "Patience, Siamese Twin of
Faith." Prayer by Miss L. Walk-
inshaw followed. Little Miss Jan-
ice Trewartha sang two hymns,
very sweetly,
After business was transacted,
Mrs. L. 'Balk introduced two young
speakers, Allan Lewe and Bill Me-
Kim, who were winners in the
Clinton Legion Junior Speaking
contest. Allan chose for his sub-
ject, "Leisure Time," and Bill
chose "Canada's Northland;" They
were both excellent and presented
their subjects in an interesting
manner. Mrs, Bond thanked the
boys and all who were taking part
iti the meeting, -
Two projects were mentioned-
the County Home Auxiliary and
the Blood Donor Clinic,
A tea and bake sale is to be held
Late in June. Lunch was served
by Mrs. L, Ball and Mrs. A. Bond
and their group.

Miss Helen Stewart, Ottawa, is
at present recuperating at the
home of her parents, Mr, and Mrs.
Clifford Stewart, RR 5, Clinton,
having returned from St, Eliza-
beth's Hospital, Boston, where she
underwent treatment and surgery.
Mr. and Mrs. W. Cochrane, Mr,
and Mrs. J-Rands, Mr. and Mrs.
Dick Jacob, attended the wedding
of Mrs. Cochrane's granddaugh-
ter, Mary Jean Faye Aikenhead,
who was married to Timan Clay,
in the Chatham Baptist Church, on
Friday night, May 15,
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Carter and
Faye, attended the graduation of
the former's son, Kenneth Carter,
who graduated from Queen's Uni-
versity on Saturday afternoon.
After the graduation they motored
to Peterborough to the home of
Miss Dorothy Johnston (who also
graduated from Queen's) for the
weekend,
Mrs. Robert Decker, Victoria,
B.C., spent four days last week
with her sister; Miss Mabel Rath-
well. She left Saturday to join
her husband, Dr. Decker, in Lon-
don. They left Wednesday by
plane for Montreal, where they will
board, a boat for a three months
tour of the British Isles and the
European countries.
Weekend visitors with Mr. and
Mrs. Thomas Leppington were, Mr.
and Mrs. Floyd Johnson and fam-
ily, London; Mr. and Mrs. Will-
iam Leppington and family, Scar-
borough; Mr. and Mrs. Gordon
Leppington and family, Scarbor-
ough. They also called on Mrs.
Roy Leppington, who is a patient
in Clinton Public Hospital.
