word of the passing of Mrs, Geor-
ge .Kricoc, the former jean Mc-
Gregor on. Sunday, May 10, For
the 'past few years she has made
her home with her daughter Mrs,
Marshall in Toronto. Mrs, Knox
WAS in her 85th year, her married
life was spent on the 13th conces-
sion of Hullett, She had a kindly
disposition and was an efficient
home maker. After a short soy',
vice in Toronto, the remains were
brought to Ball and Mutch funeral
parlor, where a funeral service
was held on Wednesday, at 2.30
Cemetery, The family of two sons
p,in, Interment was in Burn's
and three daughters survive,

Correction
The regular monthly meeting of
the Auburn Women's Institute will
be held on Tuesday, May 19, in-
stead of May 12, with Miss Hilda
Smith, RN, superintendent of
Clinton Public Hospital as the
guest speaker. Roll call will be
answered by a donation of seeds,
bulbs or plants for the auction. It
is hoped that the souvenir spoons
(coffee) to commemorate the Roy-
al visit will be here for the mem-
bers to sell.
Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs.
Gordon Powell on the birth of their
son on Saturday, May 9, in Gode-
rich Hospital, a brother for Wayne
Miss Lillian Stewart, London,
spent the weekend with her moth-
er, Mrs. William Stewart.
Mrs. Charles Nivins and Mr. and
Mrs. William Cowan and family
visited last' Sunday at Seaforth
with Mr. and Mrs. Ross Nicholson
and family.

Norman Wightman on the birth of
their daughter, on May 8, in God-
erich hospital,
Mr. and Mrs Major Youngblut
attended the graduation ceremony
at the Western Ontario Agricul-
tural school on Tuesday. Their son
Lyle received his diploma.
Mr. and. Mrs. Donald King and
family, visited on the weekend
with his father, Mr, Russel: King
and Mrs. King.
Harold Raithby has secured a
position at Seaforth- last week.
Mr, and Mrs. William Hensch
and Miss Norma left last week for
British Columbia, where they will
make their home.
Mr. and Mrs. John Weir, Joan
and Bobby, London, spent , the
weekend with his father, Dr. B, C.
Weir and Mr. and Mrs Duncan
Mackay, Barbara and John.
Mr. and Mrs. Earl Wightman,
Lucknow, are visiting with their
son Norman and boys this week.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Baechler
moved last week to their new
home at Dungannon.
Delegates will be chosen next
Sunday by the different denomina-
tons to attend the Sunday School
Convention of North Huron to be
held in St. Andrew's Presbyterian
Church. Clinton, on May 27, with
registration to begin at 1.45 p.m.

Lawrence Plaetzer, Miss Margaret
R. Jackson, Mrs. Charles Straug-
han and Mrs. William Straughan,
attended the WA Presbyterial at
Moncrief last Wednesday.
Gordon Rutledge is viisting with
his sister, Mrs. Jeremiah Taylor.
Mrs. Herbert Govier spent last
'Weekend with her brother, Mr,
Harvey Aitchison and Mrs. Aitch-
ison in Wingham.
Mr. and Mrs, Robert Craig and
family, Ilderton, and Mr. and Mrs.
Harry Worsen and Terry. Gocier-
ich, viisted on Sunday with Mr.

the conference for district direc-
tors at Guelph last week, of the

Mr. and Mrs ,Norman White and
family, Sarnia, were viistors at the
Parsonage over the weekend, Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Lear, Mr;
and Mrs. James Scott, Sr„ and Mr,
and Mrs, Norman Shepherd, spent
an enjoyable evening on Saturday
at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jana-
es Armstrong, Clinton.
The community was shocked by
the news of the untimely death of
Ted Prest, on .Sunday evening, 1:71.0 was fishing from the dam south of
the village and it is thought slip-
ped on the wet cement and not
being able to swim was drowned,
The water at that point is about 12 feet deep. The body was loca-

The many friends of Miss Kate
Williams will be sorry to learn that she was rushed to Clinton Public Hospital on ,Friday, where
she was operated on immediately,
Next week will be blossom week so get out and see the coun-
try at its best. But be sure and

many accidents last weekend,
Wilmer Harrison has sold his
three farms on the Cut Line to D.
l3ruinsma, RR 4, Clinton, and has bought a house in Goderich, The
Harrisons will be very much mis-
sed here as they were very active
in everything that came• up.
Mr. and Mrs, Walter Miller,
Gross Isle, Man,1 are spending ,a
week here with the latter's uncle,
Mr. and Mrs, James R. Stirling
and other friends. They came
down to be present at the gradua-
tion of their son, Archie. He has
completed five years at Ontario
Veterinary College, Guelph, and is
graduating on Friday morning.
Archie Miller, nephew of Jim
Stirling will graduate from the
Ontario Agricultural College, Guel-
ph on Friday morning. There are
48 students in his class in which
three of them are laides. After
graduation, Archie and his father
and, mother will leave for the West
where they will settle at Portage
La Prairie, Manitoba.
