Guests with Mrs. W. H. Pepper for Mother's Day were her family, Mr and Mrs. George Pinkney, Wal- kerton; Mr. and Mrs. Elgin Thom- son, Mr, and Mrs, Aldie Mustard and families. Miss Margaret McDonald, Lon don, visited with Misses Kathleen and Marie Elliott over Sunday. Mrs. Alec Paterson visited with her mother, Mrs. Bert Sholdice, at Brinsley. Misses Ellen, Margaret and Ina Scott spent the weekend with their brothers, William and Ross Scott. Mr. and Mrs, Wesley Ham, John and Peter, were guests of Mrs. C. Ham and Mary E, Swan over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs, Donald McKenzie, Angus and Jane Ann, were Moth- er's Day visitors with Mr. McKen- zie's parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. McKenzie. Guests with Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Wilson over the weekend were Mr. and Mrs. Les McKay, Elmvale; Mr. and Mrs. W. Bain and family, Stratford, and other members of the family. Elwood Stackhouse and family spent Sunday with his mother, Mrs, W. Stackhouse and Mr, and Mrs. Mac Wilson. Miss Louise Allan, Wheatley, vis- ited with her brother Edgar Allen. Mr. and Mrs. W. Wheatley and son Larry, visited on Sunday with their daughter, Mrs. R. Allan. Mr. and Mrs. Alf Johnston, Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Johnstont,Varna spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. William Burdge. Davison conducted the service, assisted by Norman Walk- er, superintendent of the Sunday School, A choir of mothers and Mrs. Davison's Sunday School class presented very lovely music and song MissDoris Walker read the Scripture. Miss Barbara Swan and Master Ronald Scott offered a word of welcome to the visitors. The song, "l love someone, Guess who?" was sung by Ann Clifton, Joe Lobb and Lawrence Elliott. (Owing to sickness Gail Hender- son was unable to be present). Another little sketch, "When Mother Calls" was given by six little folk, Brenda Ann Hargreav- es, Paul Swan, Betty Dalrymple, Gordon Henderson, Bernice Lobb and Allan McNall. Miss Eleaner McCartney read the story "A con- tribution to the mothers who had babies baptised. The baptismal service was con- ducted by the Rev. WA Meeting The Woman's Association of Brucefield United Church plan their visitors day for June 2, when Varna, Goshen and Bayfield Earl Doucette, Clinton, Wins Kippers Trap Shoot Earl Doucette, Queen 'Street, Clinton, walked off with a lion's share of the prizes at 4the annual May trap shoot at the Kippen Club on Sunday. He tied Toni Sherritt, Hensall, for individual honors with 46-50, then captured the Venner Trophy in a shootoff. He then combined with Jack Gilbert, Goderich, to fire 47-50 and take the London Winery two-man team trophy, Top gnia honors went to Sher- ritt with a total of 66-75 on the day. Runnersup in the Veinier trophy conwetition were Harry Mathers, Exeter, and Jack Gilbert with 45- 50. Mathers and Norm Harburn, Crornarty, shared runnerup laurels for the London Winery Trophy with 46-50. WA ladies mill be invited to be guests. Leaders from each group will form a committee for lunch on this occasion and Mrs. Broad- foot and Mrs. George Armstrong will receive the guests. The annual picnic will be held at the Bayfield home of Mr. and Mrs. Ross Scott in July. Mrs. Scott's invitation includes the home help- ers as well as members. Discussion of these two events took place at the May meeting held in the church school room. Miss Margaret McQueen was at the piano. Mrs, Harvey Taylor read from John 13: 1;15. Mrs. George Clifton gave the topic on "Blessed are the Meek." President Mrs, Wilmer Broad- foot led the business meeting. Roll call was answered by members giv- ing their mother's name, and their own. Ten dollars was voted to the Cancer Fund, The WA will buy coasters for the piano. Mrs. S. Davison explained plans to amalgamate the WA and WMS. After a lengthy discussion, it was decided to leave the matter open for balloting at a later date. There will be no meeting of the WA in August. Group one served a dainty lunch at the close of the meeting.
