Nelson opening the meeting. The group accepted an invitation to attend the thank- offering meeting of Seaforth North Side United WMS, and a discus- sion, was held on a letter com- menting on union of the WMS and WA. Mrs. R, Jenkins reported eleven home calls and two hospital calls. Reports of the Presbyterial held at North Street United Church, Goderich, were given by Mrs. B. C. Hearn and Mrs. N. Holland. Mrs. E. Epps had charge of the program, which included prayer by Mrs. H. Currie; a trio by Mrs, P. Livermore, Mrs. R. Shipley and Mrs. W. Jervis, Miss M. Davies, Goderich, gave Luggage and Footwear an interesting talk on her job in social welfare work, taking' Jesus' words regarding the first and sec- ond commandments as a guide to life. Many lonely people can be helped. She reviewed her work in Portland, Oregon and Chicago. 0 St. Paul's IA. At Deanery in Goderich The Junior Auxiliary of St. Paul's Anglican Church displayed their work prepared for the Do- minion competitions, on Friday, May 8, to their mothers and friends. The following day, 17 girls attended the Deanery Rally in Goderich with their honorary leader, Mrs, Reg. Cudmore and assistant leaders, Mrs. Eric Swit- zer and Mrs. C. VanDamme. Dr. E. K. Taylor and the Rev. de Vries held a very lovely service for the girls in St. George's Ch- urch. A delightful and entertain- ing afternoon was enjoyed by all. • At this latter event were Lynda Cooke, Grace Marie McAdam, Connie Beck, Dianne Switzer, Elizabeth Bartliff, Bonnie Taylor, Twyla Arnston, Sandra Schoen- hals, Marie and Beverley Cud- more, Patty Strong, Nancy John- ston, Linda Knipp, Carol Reichert, Judy Wells, Wanda Fremlin and Heather Darling. Drivers who transported the group to the county town were M. McAdam, S. Schoenhals, Mrs. Reg, Cudmore and Mrs, Beck. -o Neilson-Ostrom Spring blossoms and tulips in Varna United Church on Saturday afternoon, formed a lovely setting for the wedding of Anne Selina, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Ostrom, Varna, to Flying Officer Erik Norman Neilson, Winnipeg, Man„ son of Mr. and Mrs. Chris, Neilson, Winnipeg and Sarnia, The Rev. T. J. Pitt, Varna, con- ducted the double ring ceremony. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of tradition- al white in lace and nylon tulle over satin, The bouffant skirt of tulle appliqued with handclipped chantilly lace complimented the lace bodice, styled with sabrina neckline and lilypoint sleeves. Ap- pliqued floating panels extended from the back neckline, crown of sequins and pearls held her French illusion veil and she car- ried a crescent of stephanotis with a Mauve orchid. Maid of honour, Miss Marlene Coffey, Toronto, wore spring green flocked nylon over taffeta with matching headdress, and carried a cluster of white daisy 'mums, Jun- ior bridesmaids were Miss Bonnie Stirling, Clinton and Miss Peggy Lou MeAsh, Varna, cousins of 'the bride, dressed similarly to the maid of honour. Flying Officer Harvey Roddick, Gretna, Man., was groomsman, and two brothers of the bride, Alec and David Ostrom, ushered. Miss Kathleen Rathwell, cousin of the bride, Was organist, ac- companying Mrs. John Ostrom, Wingham, who sang "The Wedding Prayer" before the ceremony and "All Joy Be Thine" during the signing of the register. The basement of the church was prettily decorated in pink end white for the reception, when the bride's mother received in a .two- piece dress of dusty blue silk with white accessories and corsage of rose carnations. The groom's mo- ther assisted in sheath dress of beige silk with beige and brown accessories and a corsage of blue carnations, For travelling the bride donned medium blue silk sheath dress with matching jacket, white and navy accessories and a corsage of red roses, Following, a wedding trip to the United States and Mani. toba, the couple will sail on ;tune 5 aboard the "Italia" to Germany where the groom will continue his duties with the 11CAF, CIZRXQN $.gvmagportr). Will Cater For Two May Banquets St, A. n. d r e w s Presbyterian Church Girls' Club met on Tues- day evening and welcomed a new member, Mrs. Sinclair, to the club. Mrs. Gordon Sutcliffe read the Scripture lesson, Roll call was answered by pre- senting a Household Hint, Mrs, Robert Morgan, secretary, read her report, and several thank-you cards for flowers, A substantial sum from funds on hand were voted to the spring anniversary offering. Plans were made to cater for two banquets at the end of May. The June meeting will be in Zurich for a banquet dinner. Members are asked to meet at the church at 6 p.m, on Wednesday evening, June 3, for this outing,. Miss Mabel Harvey was the lucky winner of a bazaar item draw. Lunch was served by host- esses Mrs, Frank Mitch and Mrs, E. J. "Dick'! Jacob, Conservation Club Zone Convention Mrs, L, Forrest presided at the meeting of the Ladies' Conserva- tion Club on May 5, when 40 mem- bers were present. Plans were made to serve dinner to some 100 delegates who are ex- pected to attend the annual Zone Convention of Fish and Game Con- servation Clubs in Clinton on July 10, 11 and 12. Wives of visitors will be entertained by the Ladies' Club. A donation of 81.0 has been made to the Cancer Society, A club bingo will be held on May 22. Mrs. C. Livermore won the weekly draw.
