Taggers on Saturday took in
5170 for the Clinton Hospital Aux-
iliary, according to conveners of
the tag day, Mrs. Ale Haddy and
Mrs. Harold Lawson,

Hospital Auxiliary Has 431 Members,
Prepares To Help In Blood Clinic

Conference in Tillsonburg, which
she and Mra. A. Haddy, Mrs. A.
Knight. and Mrs. Menzies had at-
tended.
Mrs, D. J. Lane of the striking
committee announced that Mrs.
Donald Palmer has accepted the
position of second vice-president.
The president expressed her
gratitude for the work done by
Mrs. F. Fingland and Mrs. A.
Knight to ensure the success of
the Hospital Day Tea, and thank-
ed all those who had helped the
conveners in any way. Mrs, Men-
zies also thanked Mrs. D. Ball,
Mrs. J. Wilson and Mrs. ,D. Kay
for canvassing' on behalf of the,
Cancer Society.
Mrs. Alex I-Teddy' reported on
plans for Hospital Tag Day.
Mrs. W. Morlok gave a 'talk on
the Blood Donor's Clinic which is
to be set up in Clinton in the near
future. After some discussion it
was decided that a committee of
Mrs. W. Morlok, Mrs. A. J. Mc-
Murray, Mrs. Alex Haddy, with
the guidance of Dr. Ross, Goder-
ich, and the help of the Auxiliary,
would organize and operate the
clinic.
Mrs. Menzies then presented the
convener for the Penny Sale 1959,
Mrs. Duff Thompson, and basic
plans were formulated.
After the meeting, a delicious
lunch was served and a social time
enjoyed by all.
William Thomas Bridle
The death occurred suddenly in
Toronto, Saturday of William
Thomas Bridle, Hamilton, aged 77.
He was born in England, a
son of the late Mr. and Mrs.
Frederick Charles Bridle. In 1907
he came to Canada, lived in Kin-
tail for two years, and then went
to Goderich, where he lived until
1928, when he went to Hamilton,
He was an adherent of the Church
of England.
In the 'First World War he ser-
ved with the 161st Battalion CEF;
while overseas he transferred to
the Machine Gun Corps. He was
wounded, and spent several years
in military hospital since World
War I.
He is survived by his wife, the
former Florence Brehaut; four
sons, Reginald, Goderich; Fred,
Amherstburg; Herbert, Huron St.
Clinton; Clarence, Walton, Nova
Scotia; two brothers, Maurice, To-
ronto and Charles in England; two
sisters, Nell, and Florence in Eng-
land; seven grandchildren. '
Service was from the Stiles fun-
eral home, Tuesday, May 12, with .
Rev. C. S. Inder,- St, Paul's Angli-
can Church, Clinton, in charge,
Burial was in Maitland Cemetery
and pall-bearers were members of
Goderich. Branch, Canadian Legion,

19-b Two Duets in First Place
A sister team topped the duet class for schools with less than 25 pupils: Sheila
and Sandra Henry, of USS 11, sang "April" and won a $10 gift certificate. Com-
peting from the larger schools are Judy Thompson and Deanna Dale, both of SS 3,
place in the girls open solo class, with thegift certificate. Miss Dale also won first
who sang "In a Garden" and won a $10 song "Caller Herrin".
