London Life Assurance Company.
The groom is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Roosevelt Shipman, Brock-
ville,
Given in marriage by her fa-
ther, the bride was lovely in a wh-
ite ballerina-length gown of silk
and ruffled net accented with wide
blue sash featuring a large bow
and streamers at the back. Iri-
descent sequins trimmed the bod-
ice over which she wore a mat-
ching white peau de sole bolero.
A scalloped pearl and sequin tiara
held her marquisette veil, and she
carried a bouquet of pink roses.
The bride was attended by her
Sister, Miss Marjorie Goldsworthy,
Hamilton, who wore a pink silk
ballerina-length gown.
Groomsman was Pat Brokman,
Hamilton.
A turkey banquet was served
to about 23 guests at the Latin
Quarter, in London.
Upon their return from a wed-
ding trip, the young couple will
live in London.
Premier Frost Denies
Liberal Suggestion
Premier Frost has denied that
he has any intention of becoming
Canada's next governor general.
Suggestion that this was in the
offing, was made by James Scott,
Seaforth, executive director, and
secretary of the Ontario Liberal
Association, when speaking at a
Liberal meeting in Fort William
last Wednesday.

Woman's Association met on Tues-
day afternoon, May 5 in the ch-
urch parlour. This was visitors
day, and guests were the ladies
of Varna, Goshen and the Turner's
W.A,
Mrs. 3, B, Levis presided dur-
ing the meeting, when she wel-
corned the guests as well as some
members who have been absent
through illness. Miss Sybil Court-
ice took the devotions. The theme
of her talk was "Humility." This
is a large eebject and one to which
all can give a great deal of
thought,
Mrs, Levis then asked the" pros-
idents of the visiting W.A.'s to
introduce their own groups, Varna
was introduced by Mrs. Harold
Dowson; Goshen by Mrs, Bruce
Keyes; Turner's by Mrs. Alice
Lawson,

correspondence which included
several "Thank-you" notes. An in-

and experiences in the Children's
Aid Society at Goderich, which
was most inspirational and in-
formative to each one present.
Mrs. Bruce Cann sang to solos,
"Linger with Jesus in Prayer" in
English, and "Beautiful Isle -of
Somewhere" sang in the langu-
age of the Netherlands. Miss Em-
ma Plumsteel accompanied her at
the piano.
Mrs. Ira Merrill moved a hearty
vote of thanks and appreciation
to all who took part in the pro-
gram, to the speaker Miss Mc-
Gowan, and also to Miss S. Court-
ice for the devotions.
Lunch was served by the social
committee, and a sociable time was
enjoyed by everyone.
