A most impressive ceremony
oak place in Huron County court
house, Goderich, Monday' evening,
April 13, when about 80,New Can-
adians residing within the ,county,
eceived their citizenship papefs
from the presiding judge, His Hon-

In addressing the new citizens
after administering the oath of al-
legiance His Honor stated briefly
and kindly; "This is a . special
court sitting fon the sole purpose
of givind to you final citizenship
papers. You are now, not only

have obligations. In the land you
have chosen, you have free speech.
you are free to have your own
political views, and are free to
choose your own religion,
"Tonight, you have signed two
ocurnents, one renouncing allegi-
ance to your own country; the
other, accepting allegiance to Can-
ada, and like all good Canadians,
you are expected to observe Cana-
dian laws. It will be a great com-
pliment to your, new country to
speak , language, and it will
greatly please native Canadians
o hear you use the English Ian-
guage in ,public places, no matter
how brokenly you use it,
"Some of you have names that
are almost unpronounceable, if
such is the case, YOU could per-
haps alter or breviate the name,
and so make it much easier for
your children attending school in
Canada, for you have chosen a
great country as your home."

Confer Over Post Office
Further discussion about the possible fate of the
-Post Office is being held this evening, between' Council
and representatives of the Federal Department of Public
Works, Since the subject of moving or remodelling the
post office was first discussed, when snow was on the
ground, a good many opinions have been voiced. One
of the latest is that of a former Clinton lady, who now
lives in St. Petersburg, Florida. She says, what most of
the people who once lived in Clinton, or continue to live
here say: "I do hope our Post Office stays as it, That's
one land mark that holds so many memories and hand-
shakes. I'd sure hate to see it go elsewhere." -
