Radio Farm Forum
Broadcasts Over;
TV Runs 'Til April 28
(By J. Carl Hemingway)
National Farm Radio Forum has
come to an end for another seas-
on. This year the topics seemed
particularly timely and we feel
that " the recommendations from
the forums will prove valuable.
We in this area were fortunate
in having the TV Farm Forum
'over CI<NX. This has proved so
popular not only to the forums
but to the general public as well,
that we expect that several other
stations will be having TV Farm
Forum next year. While the Rad-
io Farm Forum ended March 23,
the TV Farm Forum will contin-
ue over CKNX for the month of
April,
To bring this TV season to a
close the County. Federation of
Agriculture and the County Farm
Forums are combining to organize
a program for April 14, in the
Londesboro' Hall, at 8.30 sharp.
Constable Hardy of the Provinc-
ial Police detachment, Goderich,
will present a film and will out-
line the- point system. A "fest,
unofficial, will be conducted on
your driving ability. Don't be' a
"chicken". Come out and see how
much or how little you know of
the rules of the road.
Results of the essay contest be-
ing conducted by the Women's
Committee of the Federation of
Agriculture will be announced and
the prizes awarded.
Farm Forum TV will be on at
9.30 p.m.
Ladies please bring sandwiches
or cookies. Coffee will be sup-
plied.
Everyone welcome. See adver-
tisement elsewhere in this paper.

The 1959 edition of the tele,
Phone directory for Clinton and
other district centres is now being
distributed, Directories for Clin-
ton, Goderich and -Seaforth con-
tain combined "yellow pages" for
the first time,
Tndicatiye,of growth throughout
the area covered by the directory
during the past 12 months, more
than 32,000 copies are being Sent
out this year compared with some
30,000 last 'year, Some 2,200 are
being distributed locally.
Because of the many new and
changed listings contained in the
latest edition, W. W, Haysom, Bell
Telephone -manager for this re-.
Mori; has suggested that telephone
users here discard their old books
as. soon as the new ones are re,
eeived.
"Experience has shown that
wrong numbers and unnecessary
calls to. information result if cus-
tomers don't discard their old
books," he stated.
He pointed out that one good
way to avoid confusion was for
telephone users -to bring up-to-
date, where .necessary, their per-
sonal telephone number books and
use them as' a handy reference be-
fore placing a call. To facilitate
this practice, an index Blue Book
of Telephone Numbers for the per-
sonal use of telephbrie users here
is available . free of charge from
the Bell's business office serving
