By a form letter which will like-
ly be in hands of all municipalities
an American Company has reques-
ted information from town council
regarding what sort of deal the
town would be prepared to make
with them. They state they are
interested in settling a factory in
this area.
The letter suggested renting ex-
isting buildings,-4 -tax exemptions,
low` cost land, available employees,
etc.
The clerk will enquire about
requirements insofar as floor sp-
ace, etc. needed.
An invitation will be extended
to the Mid-Western Ontario De-
velopment Association for a man
to address council.

Approves CDCI
$328,000 Addition
At a special meeting of Hullett
Township Council. on -Monday
night, March 9, approval was given
.the Clinton District Collegiate In-
stitute Board, for the proposed
$328,000 addition to the collegiate,
with one condition: that the gov-
ernment grant proves to be based
upon $200,000 rather' than the for-
mer $120,000 limit. (Word received
in the township g yesterday from
the Hon. W. K. Warrender, Min-
ister of Municipal Affairs, was
that the government had approved
the new grant system, which-
means that $200,000 Will be the
figure, probably).
The township also will send' ap-
proval to the town of Clinton for
the issuance of the debentures to
raise the money for the new addi-
tion. The town issues the debent-
ures, and then levies the propor-

showed 965 pounds protein per
acre if early cut, dry; 780 pounds
per acre, if early cut, two inches
of rain; and 630 pounds per acre
if cut late.
Advising how to keep the pro-
tein in the hay, ,Mr. ]McLaughlin
advised crushing and field dry hay.
He said that loss of protein can
cost a man $150 a month in win-
ter with a 20 cow milking herd,
if he' has to buy protein to sup-
plement the feed.

capades held in Kitchener last
Saturday evening,
Mrs. ToWnsend returned Sunday
evening after spending three weeks
in Toronto' and Oshawa, with her
daughter and sister Mrs. Benth-
rom.
Mrs. Margaret Manning and
Mr. and Mrs. Roy Hunking, Blyth,
spent Monday with 'Mr. and Mrs.
Bert Hunking. It- was their 41st
wedding anniversary.
Mr. and Mrs, Kenneth ' Arm-
strong and baby son, Stratford,
spent a few days last week with
his parents.
The snow storm on Saturday
with poor visibility caused serious
damage to a truck owned by Tom
Allen when it collided with the
County snowplow south of Con-
stance.
Mr. and Mrs. Norman Shepherd,
Clinton, along with a few guests
from the village„ spent Thursday
evening with Mr!and Mrs. Charles
Small. It was Mrs. Small's birth-
day.
