ions of the four-team Huron Sch-
ools basketball eeague. Although
they have one more game ,to play
they cannot be dislodged from
first place. They defeated Wing-
been yesterday 35.27,
Ron Livermore again led in the
scoring, getting 21 points; Roger
Cummings sank eight points; and
Ted Turner, Barry Harper and
Paul Pickett get two points each.
Wingham scorers were; Fuller,
eight; Foxton, eight; Pickford, four; Woods, three and Jones two.

Red Wings Hold League
Lead in Kinsmen Hockey
The first place Red Wings de-
feated the Maple Leafs by a score
of 5.2 to eliminate the Leafs from
the playoffs. The Canadiens and
Black Hawks play Friday night
and the winner of this game will
play the Red Wings. First game
of the two games goals to count
series, starts next Monday after-
noon at 5.45 p.m.
Harvey Holland led the Red
Wings with two goals while Brad
Dutot, Gary Fleet, Douglas Parker
picked up single goals for the
winners. Melvin Crich scored both
of the losers two goals.

The Clinton Legion Midgets took
a game lead in their best of three
series against Seaforth, on Mon-
day night, when they -handed the
visitors a 5-3 beating. Ronnie
Livermore's two first period goals
got the locals into the lead. Jim
Dick scored for Seaforth in the
first. Budd Boyes and Harvey
Dale scored in the second, while
in the third John Jacob and Boy-
es with his second goal kept the
gaem out of reach, Tom Dick got
the only Seaforth goal in the third
period.
There were 14 penalties called
in the game with Clinton getting
tagged for eight of them.
The second game of this series
will be played in Seaforth on
Thursday evening at eight o'clock,

The final game of the regular
schedule in the Kinsmen Peewee
Hockey League saw the /Wastrel
Park Black Hawks take over sec-
ond place when they defeated the
Maple Leafs 3-2. Gordie Logan of
the "Hawks scored the first goal
unassisted from the face-off and
team-mate Cary Dark added an-
other before the end of the second
period,
The Maple Leafs then took the
initiative, led by top winger Melvin
Crich who banged in two goals
and had the 'Hawks wilting under
pressure. However, David Desjar-
dine, 'Hawk defenceman put the
game away with a screened shot
from the blueline. The Black
Hawks take on the Canadiens on
Friday, February 20, at 5.30 in the
first playoff game.

ies with the Clinton Colts as they
took the third game on their home
ice by a score of 9-5.
Jack Meriam picked up two
goals for the Colts with K. Doig,
Walters and Doug. Cruickshanks
added single goals.
For the Red Devils. Mary Shan-
tz was the big noise as he netted
himself four goals, Alvin Weber
added a pair, while Hartleib,
Westman, and Uniac got single-

Mitchell jumped into a fast 2-0
lead on goals by Hartleib and
Westman before Jack Meriam re-
plied fel' the Colts, when he scor-
