Officials now are con- cerned over a scarcity of sand and salt for the icy roads, A 5,600 ton cargo of Michigan rock salt deposited on the north side of Goderich harbour in Nov- ember has been cleaned up ,by trucks serving a large part of Western Ontario. Even fine salt supplies are run- ning out. The new rock salt mine in Goderich is not expected to be operating for another five months. the lowest in a number of years.
