The annual meeting of Trinity
Church Guild was held at the
home of Mrs. Merton Merner,
Bayfleid, on Tuesday evening, De-
cember 9 with ten members area,,.

opened the meeting with prayer
and Mrs, FereY Weston presided
for he business session. Mrs, lvfer.
ton Werner gave the secretary's re-
port. The average attendance dur-
ing the year was ten.
During the Year the Guild pur.,
chased stainless steel settings for
100 persons, for the Parish Hall
and also contributed to leveling-
and seedingt the church grounds,
Mrs. Fred Weston gave the finan-
cial statement which showed that
about $100 was realized from the
bazaar and sale of work. After
payment of outstanding bills, the
amount on hand would be about
the same as last year,
Refreshments were planned for
the Christmas Sunday School party
on December 29 in the Parish Hall.
The rector presided for the elec-'
tion of officers. Mrs. Fred Weston,
treasurer and Mrs, R, Fitzsiomns,
card secretary, withdrew their
names for this year.
The following were elected for
1959: president, Mrs. Percy West-
on; vice-president, Mrs. R. 3. Lar-
son;, second vice-president, Mrs.
Lloyd Scotchmer; secretary, Mrs,

The monthly meeting of the Wo-
men's Auxiliary, Trinity Church
Branch, was held at "The Hut"
on Thursday afternoon, )December
11. The president, Miss Lucy R.
Woods conducted the opening ex-
ercises. Mrs, E. A. Featherston
was at the piano for the singing
of "0 Come all ye Faithful": Mrs.
R. H. Gairdner read the Christmas
story from St. Luke, Chapter 2.
Mrs, W, 3, McLeod gave the
secretary's report and Mrs. R. J.
Larson, the financial statement
for the year which showed all
commitments met and a small bal-
ance on hand.
Miss Percy Weston reported the
Dorcas requirements for the com.•7
ing year.
Mrs. C. Knuckey reported 11
subscriptions to The Living Mes-
sage for 1959.
Mrs. 3. B. Higgins read from
the Study Book,., "He Cares", end-
ing with a prayer.
Mrs. R. H. F. Gairdner led in
the prayer for the prayer partner,
The Rev. E. 3. Ba Harrison took
the closing prayers in which the

daughter Evelyn, Denver, Colora-
do, came on Thursday to visit his

John Pearson is recuperating,
after having sustained three brok-
en ribs when he slipped and fell
on ice a week ago Monday. Mrs.
Pearson and son John, London,
came the following evening and
she remained to care for her
husband.
Mr. and Mrs. Russell Flowers
and two children, Kim and Deb-
bie, Toronto, spent the weekend
with his parents, Mr. and Mrs,
Adam Flowers. Constable Ronald
Flowers, R.C.M.P., who spent three
weeks with hies parents left a week
ago Friday for Prince George,
B.C. ,He was on leave after hav-
ing travelled 12,000 miles through
the Canadian west and down 'the
American coast, taking part in the
famed Musical Ride. He was one
of those taking part in the musical
ride which appeared over TV on
the "Chevy Show" recently.

Carol singing was a feature of
the Woman's Missionary Society
and Woman's Association meetings
of the 'United Church, on Thurs-
day evening, December 4 at the
parsonage; also the bringing in of
gifts for different projects the
members had undertaken,
This being the annual meeting,
the . election Of officers was held,
resulting in only two changes.
Mrs. H. Hohner having completed
her two years as president of the
WMS asked to have her resigns.-
ton accepted and Mrs. C. E, Pea-
cock, first vice-president, accepted
the presidency, Mrs. A. Dunn,
was also moved from second vice-
president to first vice-president.
All others were returned to office
arid a brief installation ceremony
was conducted by Rec. C. E. Pear
cock. •

Hold Turkey Bingo

Between 175 and 200 people at-
tended the Turfy Bingo sponsor-
ed by the Lions Club in the Town
Hall, Hayfield, on Friday evening.
The Lions feel that it was quite
successful. The net proceeds will
be nsed for welfare work,
