Davison led in the devot- ional service, The choir gave an anthem, "I'll go where you want me to go, Dear Lord". Mr. Davison introduced the sp- eaker Dr. Donald Watt who is superintendent of the United Ch- urch Hospital, Bella Coola, B.C. He gave a very instructive address. He told of the Bella Coale valley, which was discovered by Alexand- er McKenzie. He said that the white people were mostly of Norwegian des- cent and there were also about 700 Indians. Their hospital has five nurses and six aides, and told that they were in need of a graduate nurse at the present time. Last year the hospital treated over 5,- 000 people and had 200 operations. For some time their means of transportation was by boat, but the people started a road after the government had twice refused them a grant as the cost would be too great, bue after seeing what the people had done the govern- ment gave them a grant. This road is open about nine months of the year, the other three months the snow makes it impassible. Dr. Watt showed slides of the hospital and surrounding grounds, also of the different churches, and the pictures of the snow peaked mountains and the purple haze in the valley. Salmon fishing is one of the industries. Some one had asked him what they could do to help the work at Bella Coola, and he told them "Clothing, financial support and prayer," which every Christian could do and what a help and up- lift this gave the doctors and nur- ses to know that the church was behind them with their prayers. Dr. Watt spoke highly of the In- dian nurses aides and showed views of them taking care of the babies. After thanking Dr. Watt for the Christian message he had br- ought Rev. S. Davison called on Rev. T. J. Pitt, Varna, to close the service with the benediction.
