Colts First Hockey Game
Next Friday, November 21
Next Tuesday night sees the start of the local WOAA Inter-
mediate "B" hockey league. Clinton's first game is scheduled
for the Lions Arena here next Friday (November 21) at nine
o'clock against Mitchell. Five teams comprise the league, all
"B" entries, and all within a radius of 30 miles. A double
schedule has been agreed to.

Fowl Supper
The members of LOL No. 1035
and their families held their an-
nual fowl supper last Friday ev-
ening in the Orange Hall. After
the supper John Hammond, Alois-
ton, showed moving pictures of
the Orange Walk, also of scenes
In Florida and eastern Ontario.
During the evening an honourary
member's certificate was presen-
ted to J. B. Rathwell, who has
been a member of LOL 1035 for
60 years. •

Regular Meeting
The November meeting of the
Woman's Missionary Society of
Ontario Street United Church was
convened by the president, Mrs.
W. S. R. Holmes in the church
parlours on Tuesday.
Roll call was answered by a
verse containing the word "Faith".
Mrs. S. Schoenhals had charge of.
the worship period using the sub-
ject "Remembrance". Mrs. A. J.
McMurray presented the report of
the nominating committee.
Mrs. G. Mills and Miss Elva
Wiltse very ably dealt with a
chapter from the study book deal-
ing with Protestant churches in
Mexico. Mrs. Livermore gave a
paper on Temperance. Mrs. B.
Olde closed the meeting with
prayer.
The December meeting will be a
joint one with the Woman's As-
sociation.

Tory Gregg was guest speaker
at the meeting of Clinton Lions
Club held in Hotel Clinton on
Tuesday evening. He gave an ad-
dress on sports, and showed films
on the 1958 Stanley Cup finals
between Boston and Montreal. G.
L. "Bud" Hayter operated the pro-
jector,
Russell Holmes presided for the
meeting. An executive meeting of
the Lions will be held in the coun-
cil chamber on Monday night, No-
vember 17.

season at Adastral Park before
the playoffs the Alouettes defeated
the Argonauts by a score of 18-6,
To-day the Argonauts and the
Roughriders will play-off to see
who earns the right to play the
Ti-cats in the Little Grey Cup
game on Saturday at 10 a,n1,
On Saturday the young players
are M for a big thrill as Dave
Mann of the Toronto Argonauts
Will be on hand to present the win-
ners with the miniature Grey Cup
and to also have a discussion with
the boys.
Friday nights, one Wednesday and
one Saturday game.
Tentative playoff arrangements
were made. Four teams are in
the playoffs - the team heading
the league having the choice of
playing with any of the other
three, Semi-final series are all
three out of five sets, with the
final series a four out of seven
series.

Mr. and Mrs. Wes Bradnock
have returned from a holiday in
Mexico.
Miss Ruth Deer, Atwood and
Miss Shirley Daer, London, spent
the weekend with their parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Roy Daer.
Mrs. Joseph Stoltz, New Dun-
dee and sons Roy and Kenneth
and grandsons Eugene and Bruce,
visited Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Stoltz
on Sunday.
WMS Meeting
Mrs. 0, Anderson, first vice-
president of the Womans' Mission-
ary Society of Knox United Ch-
urch, gave the call to worship for
the meeting on November 4. Mrs.
W. J. Craig played for the hymns.
Mrs. R. Easom read the minutes.
Mrs. E. Durnin, corresponding sec-
retary read several thank you not-
es.
Mrs. 3, Durnin took charge for
the program. Members were asked
to bring their mite boxes ,.to the
December meeting. Mrs. J. Jack-
son read the Scripture and Mrs
W. J. Craig led in prayer.
Interesting and well-prepared
reports of the sectional meeting
were presented by Mrs. C. St-
raughan and Mrs. R. S. Hiltz. Mrs
Durnin introduced the new study
book entitled, "Concerns of a Con-
tinent".
Goderich Township
The Woman's Auxiliary of St
James Church, Middleton, met on
Wednesday afternoon, November 5,
at the home of Mrs. Edward Wise,
with 17 members and two visitors
present.
The president, Mrs. Rowden,
conducted the opening devotional
exercises; Mrs. E .Wise gave the
Scripture from St. Mark 4: 1-20.
Mrs. Keith Miller read the minutes
and Mrs. Alvin Dutot gave the
financial statement.
Mrs. Ray Wise, the prayer part-
ner secretary, read an interesting
news-letter from. Miss Frances
Hawkins in Japan, re the world
educational convention in Tokyo
last August.
The ladies decided to purchase
a copy of the new constitution for
the WA. Mrs. Arnold Miller, Mrs,
Ray Wise and Mrs. Stewart Mid-
dleton were appointed to act as
a nominating committee, and will
bring in a slate of officers to the
annual meeting in December. •
During the afternoon a crib
quilt was almost completed. The
rector, the Rev. E. J. B. Harrison
closed the meeting with prayer
after which lunch was served,
