Country Fair Again
Great Success In

The Country Fair and Tea spon-
sored annually by the Woman's
• Association .of Wesley-Willis Unit-
ed Church was again a success on
• October 2.5.
Mrs. Frank Andrews, president
and Mrs, J. A,- McKim, honorary
president, received the guests at
the entrance to the lecture. room,
where booths were set up for
home baking, aprons, novelties and
homemade candy.
The decorations under the dead-
ership of Mrs, Fred Potter were
• beautifully carried out with 'mums
and autumn leaves. Mrs. D. And,
rews convened the baking booth;
Mrs.' F. Potter, the .novelties, wh-
ile Mrs. Lowe was in charge of the
Mission Band. Each had an able
committee of assistants to help
them.
The tea room conveners were
Mrs. George Beattie, Mrs. M,
Steepe, Mrs. G. Manning and Mrs,
McLaren.
Mrs. R. C. Hearn was hostess
in the tea room.
Pouring tea at the charmingly
arranged table set with white lin-
en and centred with candles and

urch will meet on November 13

Local Ladies Hostes
St. Paul's Women's Auxiliary
was hostess for the Huron Fall
Deanery meeting held Thursday,
October 30 in, the parish hall with
a good attendance. Mrs. F. aunt,
Goderich, Deanery President pre-
sided. The minutes of the Spring
Deanery meeting were read and
adopted. The guest speaker was
Miss Gladys Elliott, St. Thomas,
secretary of the Thankoffering.
Miss Elliott said, "I think every-
one gets a feeling of contentment
and satisfaction in the country
these days, and that feeling finds
its natural expression in gratitude
to God for it all.

The Woman's Association was
pregided over by Mrs. J. B. Lavis,
president, at Ontario Street Unit-
ed Church on Tuesday afternoon,
Mrs. E, Radford was pianist. Mrs.
Ira Merrill conducted the devot-
ions on the theme "Sharing God's
Mrs. E. Radford and Miss E.
Wiltse played a piano duet, and
Miss Dorothy Marquis gave a talk
on her trip.to Bermuda last April.
Rev. Grant Mills read the slate
of officers which was prepared
by the nominating committee as
follows: honorary president, Mrs.
J. Radford; past president, Mrs.
Melvin Crich; president, Mrs. J.
B. Lavis; recording secretary, Mrs.
Brock Olde; treasurer, Mrs. G.
Potter.
Vice-presidents are Mrs. A. J.
McMurray, Mrs. I. Merrill and
Mrs. M. Crich. Mrs. C. Elliott
is corresponding secretary and

Dr. J. G. Fraser
Funeral service for Dr. James
Graham' Fraser, who died sudden-
ly on Sunday, October 26, at his
home in Willowdale, were held
with full military honours on Wed-
nesday afternoon at the Willow-
dale Ptesbyterian Church,
At the time of his death he
was associated with the Aviatibn
Medical Centre, Toronto, and was
a squadron leader in the RCAF.
He was born 42 years ago in Scot-
land, and was a graduate of Scot-
tish universities in both medicine
arid science. He served with the
British Services in India for sev-
eral years and later joined the
RCAF.
In 1951 he was attached to the
radar and communications school
at RCAF Station Clinton where
he remained as a medical officer
until being transferred two years
ago to Toronto. In Clinton he was
a member of St. Andrew's Pres-
byterian Church, and was an ar-
dent worker in men's clubs where
his travel talks were enjoyed.
Surviving are his wife Essie and
a five-year-old daughter Carole.
Funeral was conducted by the
Re'V. Alexander McLean of Wil-
lowdale Presbyterian Church, with
Padre J. Galbraith, .RCAF and the
Rev. D, J. Lane, Clinton, assisting.
RCAF Station Clinton and corn-
triunity were represented at the
service by the Commanding Of-
ficer, Group Captain C. Cam-
eron;. F/L Bud Bruce andMrs.
Bruce; the Rev, and Mrs. D. .1'.
Lane, Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Law-
son. Many former associates from
the Clinton RCAF Station, now
transferred, attended the funeral.

weeks visit with their son-in-law

guests for the past week have
been Mr. Doucette's grandmother,
Mrs. Alice Watson, from Seattle,
Wash., and his mother, Mrs, Har-
ry Doucette, from Windthorst,
Sask. ' They left for their res-
pective homes on Tuesday.
