town hail on November 1 has
announced the following raffle
winners: Mrs. H. 0: Lawson, Clint-
on, a quilt; Mrs. J. W. McCool,
Londesboro, two chickens donated
by Modern Meat Market; Mrs,
V, Habgood, Clinton, a ham don-
ated by Stanley's Red White
Super Market; Mrs. Harvey Ken-
nedy, Londesboro, milk tickets do-
nated by Fairholme Dairy; Mrs,
John Sangster, Clinton, bread tick-
ets donated by Bartliffs Bakery
Ltd.
An amount of $177,79 was made
on the sale. The quilt raffle pro-
ceeds were $83,70. This money
will be turned over to the County
home. The quilt raffle was in
charge of Mrs. G. D. Bruce.
,At the Women's Auxiliary meet-
ing on Monday Mrs, Brightwell
expressed her thanks to all fami-
lies at Adastral Park who con-
tributed, rummage for the sale.

cessful bazaar and tea in the
town hall last Saturday.
Mrs. Don Barker and children,
King City, are spending a few days
at the home of her parents.
The Loyal Orange Lodge No.
1035 are holding their annual fowl
supper on Friday evening of this
week. •
Robert McClymont left last
week to take a course at the
Ridgetown Agricultural School.
Miss Myrtle Johnson, Flint,
Mich., visited with Mr. and Mrs.
Cecil Dowson and family over the
weekend.
Mrs. Estelle Goobie, Toronto and
St. Johns, Newfoundland, has been
a guest at the United Church
parsonage. She is a niece of Mrs.

WA Meeting
Mrs. Lee McConnell, president
of the Varna United Church Wo-
man's Association presided for the
meeting on October 22. Mrs. Rob-
ert Stirling assisted by Mrs. J.
Postill and Mrs. Melvin Webster
conducted the devotions.
A nomination committee, con-
sisting of Mrs. L. Taylor, Mrs. R.
Taylor and Mrs. A. Coleman was
appointed to bring in a slate of
officers for 1959. Final arrange-
ments were made for the bazaar
which was held' on November 1.
Annual Bazaar
A very successful bazaar was
held in the towns'hip hall by the
United Church WA. Rev, T. J.
Pitt opened the 'sale, and extended
a welcome to the many visitors.
The many articles of the sale
found ready purchasers. Afternoon
dea was served. Apart from the
financial aspect of ''the bazaar, this
event has a social value which is
often overlooked. The WA is to
be congratulated on a successful
event.

Armistice Day
Armistice Day will be observed
on Sunday, November 9, in the
village, at the United Church,
commencing at 10.15 a.m. Service
wreaths will be laid at the mem-
orial, following the service. Sun-
day School will be at the usual
