Life of Lady After
Heart Attack at Home

Prompt • action of two firemen,
Apical Makins and Reg. Francis,
is credited with saving the life of
Mrs, Charles Toms when she suf-
fered a. heart attack at her home
here at 2 a.m. on Saturday.
They used the pneolator to ad-
minister oxygen until medical aid
arrived, and on the trip by am-
bulance to Clinton Public Hospi-
tal at 4 a.m. Mrs. Toms improved
in health next day but is still a
patient there.

Infant Daughter Has
Holy Baptism Rites

The Reverend E. J. B. Harrison
officiated at the service of holy
baptism for Ellen Maureen, in-
fant daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Donald Matthews, in Trinity
Church on Sunday afternoon at
two o'clock.
Godpareitts were Miss Alice
Dunn, London; Miss Helen Blair,
Bayfield and Jack Denyes, Belle-
ville (by proxy).
Serving mass was the bride's
nephew, John Pager- Raymond
Massel was organist and Mrs. Ro-
bert Kuntz was soloist. The church
was decorated with white gladioli
and chrysanthemums for the cere-
mony.
The bride wore an original for-
mai gown of peau de peche styled
with molded bodice and sabrina
neckline, Garlands of Bruissels lace
dotted with French chenille were
appliqued on the bodice and the
bell skirt which draped, to a cath-
edral train, Her French illusion
fingertip veil was held by a band
of peau de peche appliqued With
lace. She carried a white prayer
book which had been carried by
her mother on her wedding day,
white spray orchids and stephan-
otis entwined with ivy.
Mrs. Thomas Dillon,, jr., Leit-
town, N,Y,, was matron of honor
for her sister. She wore a chain.
pagne chiffon dress featuring bouf-
fant skirt, plain bodice front and
softly shirred back. Panels of
champagne, frost green and cocoa
brown draped over the shoulders
to the back hemline, She wore a
champagne featured headdress and
matching accessories.
The attendants' cocoa brown
dresses were similarily styled and
they wore matching accessories.
John Laudenbach, Sarnia, was
best man for his brother, and ush-
ers were Michael Laudenbach,
Toronto, a brother of the -bride-
groom, Raymond Bauer, Waterloo,
a brother of the bride, and Ronald
Sills, Kitchener.
Receiving 150 guests at the Wal-
per Hotel, the bride's mother wore
an ivory beige brocade sheath and
three-quarter coat ensemble, and
brown accessories. Her sheath
Was designed with a bead-embroi-
dered watteau neckline.
The bridegrooni's mother choie
a black and white dress and black
accessories. A corsage of green
cymbidium orchids enhanced her
costume.
For travelling to the-New.Eng-
land states, the bride selected a
brown wool broadcloth suit accen
ted with a white mink collar and
white feather cloche. Her acces-
sories were brown and she wore a
corsage of white gardenias.
The couple will reside at 520

Mr. and Mrs.-William Murray
returned to Warren, Mich., on
Monday after having been here
for ten days. The former's moth-
er, Mrs, Agnes Murray, is making
good progress towards recovery,
after having undergone surgery
for the amputation of a leg at the
knee, in Clinton Public Hospital
on Wednesday of last week.
