the Woman's Association .of the
church convened the. meeting in
Ontael,o Street United Church on
Tuesday afternoon, supported by
Mrs E. Radford at the piano. Mrs.
M. Wiltse had conducted the, devo-
tions, and the theme of her talk
was. "Flive talented people in act-
i•an",
Mrs. Wiltse &aid, "We all have
talents we can use but mare often
just sit back and feel there is
nothing we can do."
Mrs. B. Olde read the secret-
ary's rciport and Mrs, C. proctor
the treasurer's report. Mrs. C.
Ellliott read the correspondence
and thank you notes, ,and Mrs.
C. ,Proctor reported [having sent
flowers to eight people during the
holiday season. Mrs. Lucy Swan
reported 45 cauls by the visiting
committee.
Reports, of the standing commit-
tees were given by the conveners,
Mrs. Olde read the bills and oth-
er communications.
The [program. consisted! of two
readings by Mrs. C. Proctor and
a duet by Miss Bonnie Williams
and Miss Barbara Yea, Holmes-
ville. Bonnie also sang a solo. The
:girls were accompanied by Mrs.
E. Radford at the piano.
Lunch was served by the ladies
coif the Baseline and 16th Conces-
sian of God'erich Township, can-
vened by Mrs. William Jenkins and
Mrs. John Merrill.

Funeratl services were held on
Monday afternoon at 2 p.m. on
August 25 at the J. K. Arthur
funeral home, Auburn;, for the
late WW, J. Howatt, who pass-
ed away in Clinton on August 21,
1959, after an illness of 'four days.
He was- bora, of the late George
Howatt and Agnes Bell, and. was
[born on September 1, 1872, An
East Wawan,osh where he resided
all his, 'life.
.He was mvaTmied to Miss. Frances
Harrison; who predeceased him
1A years ago. He was a fanner all
hus life, and a member of the West-
field United ,Church.
,Surviving are two sons, George,
Blyth and Fdgar; Westfield; two
