Clinton Midgets edged the Wing-
ham Midgets 11-8 in the first
game of a best of three set at
the local diamond Tuesday even-
ing. At the time of writing it is'
not known if this' is officially a
complete game, but the next game

Golf Tournament
At Bayfield on Sunday
Clinton Branch of the Caned-
iian Legion are holding a golf tour-
nament on Sunday, August 24,
at the Bayfield-Clinton course at
Bayfield.
First tee-off is at eight o'clock
and each , player will, keep indivi-
diinl score cards. These to be
turned' into Jim Graham, From
these scores will be picked one
or more teams of four to Compete
in a Legion District "C" golf tour-
nament at Stratford early in Sept-
ember.
Many Clinton people are using
the two-year-old nine hole course
at Bayfield this' summer. Mr.
Hugs, manager of the course, now
has a 50-cent green fee for be-
ginners who wish to play after
six o'clock in the evening.
An example of the number play-
ing or learning the game was evi-
dent at the Legion executive meet-
ing, Monday night, of the 12 men
at the meeting, nine are playing
golf this summer.

playoffs.
The locals' jumped on Bob Reith,
