Easy To Do When Streets Not Named (By our Hayfield Correspondent) One evening last week about tea lotelock, a lady stopped her car in the village, stuck her head out the window -and hailed another lady, a pedestrian, with, "I'm lost; Could you plea-se help me find my- self?" The pedestrian just happened to know the situation of the cottage which the stranger was seeking. But when she began to describe the route from the street on, which they were talking she realized that the motorist would' be as confused as ever. So she played the role of the "Good 'Samaritan", got into the car and directed the driver. -Upon arrival at her destination, the cottage door opened and three people rushed out and "fell upon the visitor's neck with 'great rejoi- cing." They'd been imagining all kinds of calamities when- she didn't arrive at a stated time. As she walked' home, the resident mused upon the problem of directing strangers• at night in Bayfield, The answer, of course-, is, street names, under the lights so as to be clear- ly visible at night. (What, this correspondent wond- ers, happened to the program of en- ecting street names from Elizabeth to River Hill road, planned so en- thusiastically several. years ago by the Village Trustees ? ) .
