D, 'Thorndike informed the meeting that Barbara Inder, who won the Legion District public speaking contest, would compete in Provincial finals in Jarvis Colleg- iate, Toronto, at 7.30 p,m. on Au- gust 22. The branch authorized the pur- chase of a blazer, and crest as a gift to Miss Inder from the .local Legion. Miss Inder's expenses to Toronto will be paid by Legion Provincial Command. The Clinton branch will pay the expenses of Mrs. J. D. Thorndike, Miss Inder's speaking coach, to the finals. Clinton Legion is invited to a drumhead service at Lucknow on Sunday, August 3 as part of that town's centennial celebrations.
