Playing the traditional role of King William
on a white horse, at the 268th anniversary of the
Battle of the Boyne on Saturday, was William
McIlwain, Hayfield, who is County Master of the
Orange Order for South Huron. The horse, who
normally lives , a peaceful life en the farem .of
his owner, W. R. "Bert" Gibbings, performed
quite well considering the noise of drum and fife
to which he had not been accustomed. They led
a parade of close to 2,000 Orangemen and their

A very successful and well at-
tended Vacation Bible. School MILS
held east week in the Varna Unit-
ed church. There was a total en-
rollment of 92 pupils. There were
four Classes, ranging from kinder-.
garten to Young People's. There
was recreation each morming on
the church: lawn.
On the closing morning ice
cream was served :to pupils and
teachers. Many parents were pres-
