Standards of pink peonies and
candelabra Made a charming set-
ting in St, Andrew's Presbyterian
Church, Clinton, on Saturday,
June 28, when Catherine Ann
Shaddocic, daughter of Mrs, Wil-
liam, and the late William Shad-
dock, Clinton, became the bride
of Fred Elliott Gibson, son of
Mr. and Mrs. John Gibson, Gode-
rich Township. Rev, David J, Lane
performed the double ring cere-
mony.
Given in marriage by her uncle,
R. E. Shaddick, Hensall, the bride
was lovely in a gown of pure silk
organza, with, scooped neckline
appliqued with daisy design guip-
ure lace flowers, short sleeves and
matching gloves. The bouffant
skirt, which extended in a chapel
train, featured a softly gathered
band held by appliqued flowers.
A double crown of irridescent se-
quins held her finger-tip veil of
pure silk illusion and she carried
a shower bouquet of red roses.
Mrs. W. S. Macaulay, Sarnia,
was matron of honor for her sis-
ter, wearing ballerina length green
crystal charm, styled with a panel
front, softly gathered to a large
bow at the back, matching gloves
and picture hat. Similar gowns
were chosen by the bridesmaids,
Mrs. Joe Gibson, RR 2, Seaforth,
and Miss Janet Elliott, Clinton,
All three attendants carried yel-
low roses.
Mrs. A. Willert, Sarnia, cousin
of the bride, sang "Bless This
House" and "I'll Walk Beside
You." Mrs. Morgan Agnew pre-
sided at the organ,
Joe Gibson was his brother's
groomsman, and ushers were W.
S. Macaulay, Sarnia, and W. Hol-
land, Clinton.
For the reception held in the
church parlor, the bride's mother
was gowned in navy silk shantung,
styled with sweetheart neckline,
gored skirt in cocktail length, navy
and white accessories and corsage
of white carnations. The groom's
mother wore blue crepe with white
accessories, and corsage of red
carnations, The bride's table was
centred with silver candelabra and
the other tables decorated with
low bowls of flowers.
For travelling, the bride don-
ned a dress and coat ensemble of
bronze rose brocaded doupione
with white accessories and corsage
of white carnations. Following a
wedding trip to points north, the
young couple are residing on the
groom's farm in Stanley Township.
Lobb Family Hold
Annual Reunion
In Londesboro Hall
The twelfth annual reunion of
the Lobb family was held in the
Londesboro Community Hall on
Saturday, July 5, with 98 members
present, coming from Grosse Point
Shores, Linden and Crosswel],
Mich.' Newburgh, New York;
Stratford, Chatham, Woodstock,
Millbank, Ripley, Staffa, London,
Centralia, Burford, Clinton, Kippen
and Brucefield.
After dinner, president Lloyd
Snyder, Woodstock, presided for a
short business meeting, Rain dur-
ing the supper hour made the
group thankful to be in the hall.
It was decided to write a letter of
appreciation to Bill Atkinson,
Kitchener, who had offered to
print out the invitations. The pic-
nic will be held the same place
next year.
Officers for 1959 are: presi-
dent, Bill Atkinson; first vice-
president, Billy Lobb, Mich.; sec-
ond vice-president, Howard Pym;
secretary, Mrs, Lloyd Snyder;
treasurer, Lloyd Snyder.
After the business session, Jim
Lobb lent in a sing-song from song
sheets provided by Mrs. Lorne
Jervis. Mts. G. Henderson was
at the piano. The Rev. Charles
D. Cox was asked to make a few
remarks, and he responded by
telling' some humorous stories.
A request was made at the pre-
vious executive meeting for the
Lobb Bros. quartet to sing, so.
that the younger generation might
hear them.. They sang •three num-
bers,
The sports committee consist-
ing of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Holland,
Mrs. Donald Crich, Donald and
Fred LOW); carried out a fine line
of sports, creating lots of laughs.
Souvenirs were presented to the
youngest baby, Joan Louise Pym;
for having birthday nearest the
picnic date, Burt Lobb, Brucefield;
the most recent person reaching
70 years of age, Bert Lobb.
After the evening meal, the
president thanked the table com-
mittee, end all who helped make
the picnic a success,

Varna United Church, tastefully
decorated with baskets of pink
Canterbury bells, blue delphinium
and white 'mums, was the setting
on Saturday, July 5, for the wed-
ding of Margaret Elizabeth Mc-
Clymont, Toronto, and Douglas
Stewart Robinson, Toronto.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Fred W. McCly-
mont, Varna, and the groom is
the son of Mrs, Gretta Robinson,
Toronto. Rev. T. J. Pitt per-
formed the double ring ceremony
and Miss Margery Webster, Var-
na, presided at the organ, while
Mrs. Lorne Barker, Thistletown,
sang the Lord's Prayer and the
Wedding Prayer.
Given in marriage by her fath-
er, the bride wore a floor-length
gown of hand-clipped imported
Chantilly lace, styled with full
length lily-point sleeves, sabrina
neckline etched with a petal ef-
fect, and bouffant nylon tulle
skirt highlighted with tiers of the
lace and falling into a slight train,
Her finger-tip veil was held in
place by a tiara of seed pearls
and irridescent sequins and she
carried a cascade of red roses.
Mrs. Donald Barker, King City,
was matron of honor for her sis-
ter, Wearing ,white organza em=
bossed with blue flowers, in strap-
less style with a bolero jacket,
and bouffant skirt with scalloped
front panels of pleated net. She
carried flowers of blue and white.
Miss Joan McClymont, sister of
the bride, wore white organza with
yellow embossed flowers, similar
to that of the matron of honor,
and carried yellow roses and
white 'mums. Miss. Ruth Barker,
King City, niece of the bride, was
flowergirl.
The groomsman was Donald
Barker, King City, and the ushers
were Ivan McClymont and Robert
McClymont, Varna,
For the reception, the church
parlors were beautifully decorated
with sweet peas and roses. Guests
were present from Toronto, Wood-
bridge, King City, London and
Thistletown, The bride's mother
received, wearing rose crystalette
with white accessories and corsage
of yellow roses and baby white
'mums. The groom's mother wore
powder blue ribbed scintellate,

'mums,
For travelling, the bride wore a
powder blue summer suit, pink
and white accessories and corsage
of pink roses, The young couple
