g,an, widow of the late Thomas
Betties', who Tpassed away on
Thursday, June 5 in Alexandre
Marine 'and General Hospital. She
was in her 96th year,
Born on' Lot 39, Concession 5,
Goderich. Township, Mrs. Battles
was one of a family 'of four boys
and six girls. She is survived by
three sans, Theron and Allen,
Goderich Township; Bain, Toron-
to; two daughters, Mrs. Rhoda
Jordan, Vancouver, B,C.-; Mrs.
Peter (Alma) Young, Goderich;
one sister, Pearl, now in Florida.
Her husband predeceased her 25
years ago.
Mrs. Betties had 'been a patient
in hosipital for a long time.
Pall-bearers were 'all nephews,
Kenneth and Alvin Betties., James
Young, Wallace. McDougall, Frank
Morgan and Douglas McDougall.

p.m. Wednesday at Gates- Funer-
al Home, Aberdeen, North Dakota
for William B. Eagleson, 86, 903
S, Jay St., who died Saturday
*Jr1 st. Luke's Hospital. Mr. Eagle-
son was an Aberdeen blacksmith
for 47 of his 58 years in the .
trade having bergun business! in
1898 in partnership with his bro-
ther.
The Rev. Richard Kline, pastor
of Congregational' Church, will of-
ficiate. Burial will be in River-
side Cemetery.
Mr. Eagleson, known to many
Aberdonians for his' smithy work,
was born Sept, 9, 1871 in Huron
County. He moved 'to North Dak-
ota with his brothers in 1.897 and
one year later came to Aberdeen.
Retired in 1945
He and his brother, the' late
Wilson A. Eagleson, opened a
blacksmith shop at 23 2nd Ave.
S.E. Later this partnership was,
dissolved with William ,eentinu-
',nig. his 'trade at 12 S. 1st St. until
his retirement in January of 1945.
The Eagleson family have made
their home at 903 S. Jay St.
since October, 1906.
He was known for his racing
enthusiasm. Mr. Eagleson pro-
moted his own "town" races when
a legitimate race was not being
run local racetracks.. "Mae'
won two silver cups' at lairs while
"Mady Armstrong" was' 'another

ring a dress' of pink nylon chiffon
over 'taffeta, in style identical to
the bride's with white accessories
and corsage of blue carnations.

A 100-year-old former resident
of ,Saskatoon, Mrs. Ann Eliza
Grummett of Mayenont, died in
hospital at Saskatoon en June, 1.
Born in Ontario, Mrs. Grum-
reett had lived in Saskatoon from
1012 until 1949, when she went
it live with her daughter, Mrs.
Joe Hutchinson at lVfaymont. Her
huSband, Mathew, died in 1939.
Mrs. Grtunmett is, survived by
two daughters; Mrs, W. J. Mae-
lefillan (Nettie), Saskatoon, and
Mt5, Hutchinson! (Emily), May-
mont; three sons: Bert, Saskatoon
Harvey, Grandora, and William,
Victoria; 31 -grandchildren and 68
great-grandchildren, One brother,
John Farquhar, -Clinton, Ontario,
also survives.
'Funeral service was held, Wed-
nesday, June 4 from IVIcKague's
Funeral Home.

Church.

He retired in Jianuary, 1945,
selling out to Ruesell Craven.
Survivors include his widow, two
daughters, Luella, at hame, and
Mrs. Carl ,(Alma) Schwarz, a me-
mber of faculty at Northern St-
ate Teachers' College; three sans,
Frank, of Anaheim, Calif., Jim,
LaHabra, Calif., end Harold W.
(Hi), San Francisco and 12 gr-
andchildren. Two sisters, six br-
others. His parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Nelson Eagleson!, Bayfield, pre-
deceased him, Mrs. Mary Johns-
ton of Milestone Sask., survives
him. Mr. .Eagleson l suffered a st-
roke at his' residence on Wed-
nesday afternoon, May 14 and he
was removed to St. Luke's' Hos-
pital by ambulance the follbwing
morning.
