Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Knight
and Miss E. W. Dupuis, Toronto,
were in the village a few days last
week.
Mrs, Percy Weston entertained
her two sisters, Mrs. H. Bender,
Zurich, and Mrs, Robert Fulton,
Edmonton, Alta., the latter return-
ing to her home in Edmonton,
after a two week's visit here, on
Sunday.
James Brown, Detroit, who has
been spending his summer holidays
in Bayfield for over 40 years, and
Mrs, Brown, arrived on Wednesday
and were guests at The Little Inn.
Mr. Brown returned on Sunday,
and Mrs. Brown is staying this
week. Other guests over the week-
end were: Mr. and Mrs. W. R.
Copp,, Windsor; F. A. Lowe and
Nathaniel Barber, both of Niagara
Falls, N.Y.; the Misses Pelto, Miss
.V. West, Miss M, Dunbar, Miss M.
Barrows, and. Miss M. Hoven, all
of Niagara Falls, N.Y.
Joanne and Kenny Arkell, with
their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Tom
Arkell and uncle Ken Arkell, Bay
City, Michigan, were at their fam-
ily home over the Memorial Day
holidays.
Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Middleton
and Bobby, visited their uncle,
Lauder Buchan, on Sunday.
Dr. and Mrs. Ralph Nichols,
London, and father, William Nich-
ols, Toronto, were guests of Mrs.
Fred McEwen on Saturday and
Sunday.
Mrs. James Munshaw and Mrs.
Edward McAsh, London, visited
their niece and nephew, on Sunday,
Mrs. J. Richardson and Jack Mac-
Kenzie. Their sister, Mrs. James
H. Phinney and Mr. Phinney, De-
troit, were also guests.

Master Braden Doerr, Mitchell,
is visiting his aunt and uncle, Mr.
and Mrs. Ernest Hovey, this week.
The Rt. Rev. Bishop and Mrs,
W. A. Townshend were at their
cottage fora few days. They sail
on the Empress of England from
Montreal, next Tuesday for Eng-
land, Where the Bishop as a spec-
ial delegate will, attend the Lam-
beth Conference at Lambeth Pal-
ace.
Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Odletfson,
who spent the last two weeks at
their home here, were called to
Edmonton on Wednesday to attend
the funeral of Mr. Odleifson's bro-
ther, They left by plane from
London.
The Rev. Canon H. M. Lang-
Ford, Waterloo, who was to have
taken the services in Bayfield Par-
ish on Sunday, was indisposed and
unable to come. He was to have
taken the place of the rector, who
is to be absent for a couple of
weeks. Rev. Harrison left after
the Sunday services, and Herbert
Bridle, lay reader of St. • Paul's
Church, Clinton, will conduct next
Sunday morning services; St.
James' Church, Middleton at 9.30
a.m. and Trinity Church, Bayfield,
at 11.00 a.m,
Mrs. Charles Marks was taken
to Clinton Public Hospital on Sat-
nrday. Her daughter Miss Man?
Marks, who was home for the
weekend, returned to Toronto, on
Sunday,
Chancel Guild
The Chancel Guild of Trinity
Church held their regular monthly
meeting at the home of the presi-
dent, Mrs. John Cluff, on Tuesday
last, with opening prayers by the
rector. Mrs. C. Knuckey present-
ed the secretary's report, and Mrs.
John Stewart's treasurer's report
was adopted. Discussion followed
regarding two major objectives,
gifts for altar linen and Nurses,
and the possibility of getting vest-
ments for the church choir. It was
decided to make the latter a spec-
ial objective this year, hoping to
raise sufficient funds from those
interested, to enable them to have
the vestments purchased for, use
at the Christmas season,

trait and Deer Lodge Park, Bay-
field, have returned for the sum-
mer season and are opening their

ed with his parents, Mr. and Mrs.
J. Pearson, over the weekend,
The Misses M. and A. Watson,
Windsor, have opened their sum-
mer home for the season, also the
Cree Cooks from Clinton. Mr. and
Mrs. J. Milne, Edgerton Beach,
Mr, and Mrs. A. W. Hayman,
and Mr. Hayman is spending his
holidays here, in June.

Higgins, Toronto; Glen Brandon,

spent the weekend at their respec-
tive homes in the village. Mrs.
William Parker remained to stay
a week with her parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Jack Fraser.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Toms had
as visitors the past week, Mr. and
Mrs. Norman Toms, of Detroit.
Miss Florence Gallop, Seaforth,
has come to spend the summer in
Bayfield.
Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Cook,
Evanston, Ill., brought Mr. and
Mrs. Cree Cook, Clinton, to their
summer home. They had attended
'the wedding of their grandson
Louis' marriage to Miss Mariann
Bishop, Chicago, on May 24 in
the Presbyterian Church, Evan-
ston. Congratulations and best
wishes to the young couple.
At the Albion Hotel, over the
weekend, were a party from Royal
Oak, Mich., all members of the
Young Adults Club of the First
Baptist Church. For most of them
it was their first visit to Bayfield,
and they attended service at the
Baptist Church on Sunday: Mr.

Debra Ernest, Stan Sheiman, Milt
Pritchard, George Stillman, Amy
Truett, Sharon Jones, Elizabeth
Ridout, Carolyn Toothacker, Sand-

Gerry' Wallis and Ted Turner,
who have attended Air Cadet
training this year, have been pro-
moted to LAC.
Mrs. A. W. Reid and daughter
Kay, Windsor, arrived in the vil-
lage on Wednesday, and opened
their cottage, "Enfield". They had
as their guests over the ,weekend,
Mr. and Mrs. T. F. James, De-
troit. On Monday Kay motored
to Malton and met Mrs. M. Mar-
shall, North Bay, who will again
be staying for the summer months.
