Whereas it has been deemed ad- visable to regulate the carrying end discharge of firearms in that part of the Corporation of the Township of Stanley known as the Police Village of Bayfielcl. Now therefore the Municipal Council of the Township of Stan- ley, pursuant to the authority vest- ed in it by the Municipal Act, R.S.O. 1950, Chapter 243, Section 388, Subsection (1), Paragraph 37, enacts as follows: (1) No person shall discharge a firearm within the limits of the Police Village of Bayfield or upon any public highway therein. (2) No person shall carry a fire- arm within the limits of the Police Village of Bayfield or upon any public highway therein unless the same is dismantled or in a case used for the carrying and trans- portation of such firearm. (3) For the purposes of this by- law "firearm" means: (a) Anything that is designed to affect the discharge of any pellet or ammunition, (b) Anything that a person uses or intends to use to effect the discharge of any pellet or ammunition, and without restricting the gener- ality of the foregoing, includes any rifle, pistol, shot-gun, air gun, air pistol, spring gun or any class or type thereof. (4) Any person who contravenes the provisions of this by-law shall be guilty of an offence and liable to a penalty not exceeding Fifty ($50.00) Dollars (exclusive of costs) or to imprisonment to a term not exceeding twenty-one (21) days. (5) Every such payment shall be recoverable under the Summary Convictions Act, Revised Statutes of Ontario, 1950, Chapter 379. The Wilhelmine Mission Band of 1-folmesville United Church, met in the school for their May meeting, which was in the charge -of 'Charles' Houghton. The meet- ing opened with the hymn "Little Drops' of Water," and the Mission Band Purpose. Paul Cudmore read the Scripture lesson and Bill Hoggarth gave the prayer. The president, Bob Norman, conducted' the business. A story was read by Marilyn Yeo, and a temperance poem was read by Fred Tyndall. Jim. McCul- lough read a poem. The study books were read by Mrs. J. Yeo and Miss Ann Shaddock.
