claim the attendance draw, there-
fore the prize at the April meet-

Legion To Enter
Bowling Contest.
Te Clinton Branch of the Can-
adian Legion is sending a strong
five-ipin bowling team to Waterloo
on Sunday to compete in Ontario
Command Bowling Championship
Match. Members of ..the six-man
team are: Jim Graham, 'captain;
Bert Harris, Len Arnston, Dick
Freeman, Glen Carter and Bill
Harris, all members of the Clinton
branch.
The team was picked following
a bowl-off at the Clinton Bawl-
iiig Alley last Saturday afternoon.
The branch authorized expenses
for the trip at the regular meet-
ing Monday night.

Constable Helmar Snell, a police-
man in Seaforth for more than
25 years, has been promoted to
Corporal and transferred to God-
erich.
,Cpl. Snell 'began his police car-
eer on January 1, 1933, when he
was sworn in as, chief of police of
Seaforth. Eight years later he
was appointed to the Huron cowl,.
ty force, and was in charge of the
Seaforth detachment, and was re-
sponsible' for neighbouring toWn-
ships.
When the county force was tak-
en over by the Ontario Provincial
Police 11 years ago, Constable
SAII was among the members of
the county farce\ absorbed into the
OPP, He continued to handle the
Seaforth detachment.

Yard here was $29 a hundred,
FOB Clinton on Tuesday, March
18, when 688 hogs were cleared
through the yards. Manager Joe
Corey reports that loads went out
to London, Stratford, Kitchener
and Toronto at that price.
Price received for the 750 hogs
cleared through the Clinton As-
sembly Yards on Tuesday, March
