• , Guests Speak
Reeve Burton Stanley spoke on
progress of the projeCt. He was of
the opinion that the town should
purchase the public washroom
.fixtures that are included in .the
pool committee's plans for. the
bath house. These washrooms
would be available to all .persons
at 'Clinton Community Park. He.
said that the. park facilities had
not been kei't up to date and this
would be an opportunity for the
council to do something about it.
The Park Board have their . own
expenses, he said,
Mr. Stanley -said he would like
to see sizeable grants from the
surrounding townships toward the
pool project and further suggested
that the town match these grants
dollar for dollar. -
Mayor William J, Miller said
we should all feel prOttd of this
project when it is completed.
Speaking to the -reeve's'suggestion
he said he would do his utmost to
bring about this suggestion. He
said that having no proper toilet
facilities in the park has definitely
been an embarrassing situation for
gatherings there. Mr. Miller was
quite sincere in his talk to make
the park as attractive as possible.

The story that some child in
!Clinton had been "chased by a
man" has circulated quite widely
since last Saturday, and mothers
have become worried. Some have
been afraid to send their children
out to Cubs and Brownies meet-
ings because of the talk.
However, Chief H. R. Thompson
has been unable to track down
anything concrete in his investig-
ations. If anyone has anything
definite about this situation, he
is asked to contact the police of-
fice as soon as possible. -
On the other hand, if the talk
is just rumour, without any gratin-
ding, Chief Thompson warns that
this business of starting false rum-
ours is a serious affairi It is a
disagreeable 'thing, he says-, to.
haVe parents upset about their
children's safety. If anyone has
started the rumours "for a lark",
the Chief warns that it is no lark
at all.

The speaker's closing 'remarks
were quite complimentary to the•
local committee. He said "Your
pool with AS present faeilities and
the other facilities planned, will
be one of the best, and should be
adequate for many, many years."
In thanking the speaker,' Hee
