Andra varine end General Hospi,
talc Goderich, On Monday, March
$, after a short illness. She was
101 years old.
Mrs. Straughan celebrated her
last birthday on February 2 this
year at the home of her daugh-
ter, Mrs. Howard ,Sturdy, in .Gode-
rich Township. She, had been in
remarkably good helth and was
able to do things for herself until
a few days ago.
She was the former Grace Watt,
a daughter of the late Mr. and .
Mrs. David Watt. She was a mem-
ber of 13erimiller 'United church
and the Goderich Octogenarian
Club.
Surviving are two sons, Benson
Straughan, Minneapolis, Minn.,
and A. M. Straughan, Benmiller;
two daughters; Mrs. Howard

Kie, Toronto; nine- grandchildren;
20. great grandchildren; and one

In failing health for some time,
Mrs. George McNeil, passed away
in the Thamer Nursing home, Sea-
forth, on Saturday on her 82nd
year. She was the former Janet
Wilson.
She is survived by one daught-
er, Mrs, (Era) Bert Craig, Aub-
urn; three sons, George, Blyth;
Samuel, Goderich Township and
Willington, Blyth; one sister, Mrs.
M. Ohier, Goderich; also 19 grand-
children and 30 great grandchild-
ren.
The remains rested at the 3.
K. Arthur funeral home until
Monday when services were held
conducted by Rev. R. S. Hiltz.
The pall-bearers were six grand-
sons Donald McNeil, Earl Hamm,
Robert McNall, Leonard Archam-
bault, Douglas McNeil and -Verden
Vanstone, •
The many floral tributes were
carried by James Howatt, James
Pierce, Edgar McNeil, Rod John-
Ed Johnston and Thomas McNall.
Interment took place in Union
Cemetery Blyth.

in his 44th year.

Born in England., the son of
Mr, and Mrs, Henry Aldwinckle,
Yeoman came to Canada with his.
parents 27 years ago. The family
settled near Varna, and Mr. Ald-
winckle has lived thete ever since.
He married Anna Aiken'head in
1944, and they have operated a
farm near Varna. During the past
year, he was employed at RCAF
Station Clinton.
Surviving besides his mother, in
Hensel', are one son, Gerald five
years and Jo-Ann, eight years old;
two brothers, Group Captain Ro-
bert Aldwinekk, with the RCAF
at Ottawa and Dean, at Varna.
Thomas J. Stinson
Thomas J. Stinson, Varna, .72,
died Sunday, March 2, in Victoria
Hospital, London,
He was a retired farmer, born
in Stanley Township, son of the
late Mn and Mrs.•Thomas Stinson.
He is survived' by three sisters,
Miss Elizabeth and Miss Susan
Stinson, both of Tuckersrnith
Township; and Mrs. Ernest (1Cath-
erine) Izzard, Montreal.
Service was from the Ball and
1VIutch funeral home, Clinton, on
Tuesday afternoon and interment
was in Bayfield Cemetery. On
Monday evening the Varna Loyal
Orange Lodge No. 1035 conducted
a service at the funeral home.

discussed b ya panel on the Nat-
ional Farm Radio Forum broad-
cast of March 10.
Three well known Canadian wo-
men will make up the panel. They
are Mrs. Nadine Archibald, secre-
tary, Nova Scotia Federation of
Agriculture; Mrs, C. T. Armstrong,
preSident, Farm Women's Union
of Alberta, and Mrs. Elton Arm-
strong, president, Central Ontario
Area Women's Intitutes. The
panel will be chaired by Gordon
Hawkins of Tpronto.
This program was pre-recorded
at Vineland, Ontatio, where the
Ontario Leadership Forum was
holding its annual week-long
workshop: Members of this For-
um will also participate in the
broadcast,

Regular Meeting
Mrs, Joe Gibson was hostess for
the meeting of the Happy Work-
ers Club held on February 13. Roll
call was answered' with a Valen-
tine by the ten Members present,
Mrs, Clifford Glazier won the
lucky draw. A quilting highlight-
ted the afternon and luncheon was
served by the hostess assisted by
Mrs. Elgin Dale and Mrs. Elmer
Dale.
At the next meeting, to be held
at Mrs. Elmer Dale's, a pot luck
lunch will be served.

The bride is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. T. Stanley Neale, and
granddaughter of Mrs, J. W.
Stackhouse, Brucefielci, The groom
is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Cyril
Munro, London. The Rev. S. A. 0.
McKennitt performed the cere-

The bride wore a formal gown
Of pure silk peau de sole styled
with embroidered band of alancon
lace forming a sabrina neckline.
The full bouffant skirt, cascading
from the torso bodice, Was en-
hanced with lace appliques sprink-
led with simulated Sequins. A
Mantilla of rosepoint laee and
tulle, trimmed with pearls and
sequins, held her fingertip veil Of
French illusion and she carried a
cascade of orchids with• hyacinth
blooms.
