The local Kinstnen Club of Clinton join With, all other,Kinsmen Clubs across Canada, this week,
in their celebration Of Kitt Week, Local residents. are well acquainted, with the Clinton Club's ser,
vice activities, featuring their pork in Christmas Toy Campaign, Pee-Wee gockey and Baseball.
These activities are part of the general aims of this service association. They reflect the local
club's desire, .to participate, with all other Kinsmen Clubs in Canada, in community service work;
Becense 'each local -010 is free to direct its service work in directions which hest serve its own
community, there is tremendous variety in the nature of work done across the nation. Some ex-
envies in Central and Western Ontario include the participation of many clubs in .Assistance to local
Retarded Children Associations, construction of apartments for low-income aged people, sponsorship
of youth groups, construction of community .playgrounds', operating summer camps for under-privi,
ieged children, .conducting school and community safety programs, organizAng supervised sports and
recreational programs for community youth and many other types of community assistance all
demonstrating each particular club's keen interest in' some part of its cornmunity'S needs.
During this week's celebration, of 'National. Iin Week, the Kinsmen Club of Clinton joins with
its Sister 'clubs in Canada. and ex tends its sincere thanks to their fellow citizens for the co-operation
received during the fund-raising projects which accompany and make possible these service activities.
It is their .earnest desire that this co-operation will he projected successfully. in the future ,so that,
as in the past, Ninsrnen may continue actively and successfully to direct their energies in the field
of "The Community's Greatest Need."

Ladies 1VIeeting
Mrs, John McGregor , welcomed
ten members, two visitors and
four children to her home for
the meeting in February of the
Stanley Ladies' Community Club.
The meeting was opened by
the President Mrs. Melvin Gra-
ham and all repeated the Lord's
Prayer. The secretary and treas-
urers reports were read. The roll
was called and answered by tell-
ing "What you would grab first
in your home in case of fire".
The collection amounted to
$3.05. Five dollars will be sent
to the March of Dimes.
The party which was 'planned
for February 14 had to be post-
poned and will be held early in
March if the weather permits.
Several Thank you cards were
read. ,
The meeting came to a close
with the benediction. A substan-
tial lunch was served by the host-
ess and her group. The next
meeting will be held at the home
of Mrs. Cliff Stewart; the roll
call to be answered by "Naming
an Irish song or telling an Irish
joke". 0-

The Women's World Day of
Prayer Service will be observed
in St. James' Church, Middleton,
on Friday afternoon, February 2.1,
at 3.00 p.m. The ladies of the
community are urged to attend
this inter-denominational service.

ANNUAL CIMISIMAS TOY CAMPAIGN Each year the Kinsmen Club of Clinten collect
old or slightly broken children's tops and spend many weeks repairing and re-painting them
before distributing the gifts to those children in Clinton and district who would otherwise not
get many toys, Last Christmas, Kin Carman McPherson (left) was chairman of this project
and the basement of his new home On R,atteribury Street was Used as the repair shop, Over
100 toy ,items were repaired and distributed. With him are Kinette Erie Cook, Kin Presi-
dent Don Kay a d Kinette MM. Shirley Kay. The kinettes take an active part In this and
other of the marry projects promoted and sponsored by the Kinsmen Club of Clinton,
