John Albert Rath
John Albert Rath, a retired
farmer from the Belgrave district,
died at the Huron. County Home,
on Friday, February 7. He was
in his 86th year.
The only survivor is a sister,
Mrs. Ann Hefner, Clinton. His
wife predeceased .him in 1948.
He was a member of Ontario
Street United Church, Clinton.
Service was on Monday after-
noon from the Ball and Mutch
funeral home, with Rev. Grant
Mills officiating. Temporary en-
tombment was in Clinton mausol-
eum, to be followed by burial 'lat-
er in Dundalk cemetery:

Rev. D. J. Lane, minister of
Blyth Presbyterian Church, offic-
iated Thursday afternoon, Feb-
rnary 6, in the Tasker Memorial
Chapel, Blyth, at a funeral ser-
vice for Mrs. Ellen Crawford, who
died Monday in Clinton Public
Hospital.
Pallbearers were William and
Bert -Bunking, Gordon Elliott,
Leonard Schdbbrook, Clarence
Crawford and Moody Holland.
Burial' followed in Hope Chapel•
Cemetery, Hullett Township.

The annual meeting of District
of Hullett Loyal Orange Lodge
was 'held in Riverston LOL No.
145 Hall, Goderich Township on
Wednesday evening, February 5,
with a good attendance from all
lodges in the district. A very fav-
ourable report was presented to
the "district lodge in the address
given 'by retiring District Master,
Worshipful Brother, Frank Falc-
oner, accounting for all lodges for
for whom he served as District
Master for the past .two terms.

vice will be held in Winthrop pri-

Alex. S. bukley
Funeral service wider the aus-
pices of the Clinton Branch 1.40,
Canadian Legion, was held last
Wednesday, February 5, for Alec-
sander Sheppard Inkley, late of
Clinton, who died on February 3,
in Westminster Hospital, 1..endon.
He had been a patient there for
the past 'four years,
Service was held in the Ball and
Mutch funeral home, by the Rev.
D. J. Lane, chaplain of the Leg-
ion Branch, and interment ,ivas in
Clinton Cemetery.
Pall-bearers were six grand-
sons; Wallace,Stewart and Frank
IVIanDonald, yle Pratt, Stephen
Brown and. Grant Daniells. Flow-
.• er-bearers were Jimmy MacDon-
ald and Charles J'ohn'son.
Born at Spalding, Lincolnshire,
England, on May 5, 1884, Mr. In-
kicY was with 'the British Im-,
pedal Anny in Sonamaliland, Af-
rica in the early 1900's, later ser-
ving in the British Army during
the. first Great War.
Following the war he came to
Canada, where he took up resi-
dence at Listowel and Stratford,
later coming to Clinton. His first
wife, Elsie Ellen Drayson, died in
1924. He married Mary Jane Miss Margaret Holmes, Brant-

Rebekah Lodge At
Hensall Receives
Two New' Members

At Ambet Rebekah Lodge meet-
ing held February 5, two new
members, Mrs. Elgin Thompson
and Mrs. George Clifton were in-
itiated into the lodge in a beaut-
iful ceremony conducted by the
degree team of the lodge.
Arrangements were made for
the 9th birthday party of the lod-
ge to be held February 19. Huron-
ic Lodge', Clinton, and District
Deputy President, Mrs. Ada Frit-
sky, Goderich, are being invited
as speCial guests for the occasion.
In the recent C.P. and T. fund
drive by the I.O.O.F. and Amber
Rebekah Lodge, the Rebekalis
were the losers and will enter-
tain' the LO.O.F. and their wives
on February 14
A donation was granted to the
Navy League of Canada. Noble
Grand, Mrs. William Caldwell was
in the chair. Luncheon was serv-
ed,

John Harold Wiltse, Clinton,
died suddenly Thursday, February
6, while visiting at the home of
his sisters, Misses Maude and Biva
Wiltse, He was in his 73rd year.
Born in Clinton, he spent the
greater part of his life in. Win-
nipeg in real estate business,
coming to London later to work
as an office clerk. He retired to
Clinton several years ago,
He was a member of Ontario
Street United Church,
He is survived by his wife, the
former Frankie Lent; one daugh-
ter, Mrs. E. J. (-Doris) Sproule,
Winnipeg; one son, Fred; Victoria,
B. C.; one brother, Bert, Toronto;
and two sisters, Misses Maude and
Elva Wiltse, Clinton. His step-
mother also survives. She is Mrs.
Harrison Wiltse,
