Splendid reports were heard
from all the secretaries, showing
a most su,ccemful and gratifying
years work. The -treasurer's re-
port was outstanding, there being
an increase of over $500, over last
year's givings and for the first
time since union this Presbyterial
went over it's allocation.
In the afternon members of the
Arthur Circle of Goderich led in
devotions and took as their text,

17. In 1959 it is to be held in

not Promised." She was accom-
panied by Mrs. M. J. Agnew; pian-

In her closing message the pres-
ident reminded the members of
the greatness of their task and
the urgency of the times. "Let
us remember that, we . are not
alone but commit ourselves to
God, confident that He is working
among us more wisely and more
powerfully than we understand."

Regular Meeting
The Turner's United Church
Woman's Association met January
15, in the church basement; with
the new president, Mrs. Alice
LaWson in the chair. Ten mem-
bars were present, Roll call was
answered by "As a Church mem-
ber I resolve—"
Scripture was read by Mrs. E,
Townsend. Prayer was read by
Mrs. 3, Turner, Devotions were
by Mrs. H. Johns, and the topic
by Mrs. Lawson. After the re-
ports were given, and a discussion
period held, lunch was served by
Mrs. J. Turner and 'Mrs. Frank
Falconer.

Many parishioners of St. Paul's
Anglican Church met in the par-
ish hall on Monday evening last,
for the annual vestry meeting.
Several men who have not prev-,
iously served on the Board were
brought in for 1958,
The rector appointed as his
Warden, $/L Melvin Robertson,
C.D. S/I,, Robertson is Chief
Technical Services Officer at
RCAF Station •Clinton, He has
been in the Air Force for 18
years, and returned from a tour
of duty in Germany last year. He
is a native of Burford, where his
mother still resides. Mrs, Robert-
son, Peter, 13, and Elizabeth, 5,

In a. brief speech accepting the
appointment, SAL Robertson said
he much appreciated the honour,
and vvo.uld do all in, his power for
the good of the Church. Be re
called that his father, who died
recently, had been on the Board
of his church for oVer 50 years,
while his mother played the on,

were Art Ball, •Cpl, Mervin Cole, and E. Ellwood. Mr. Ball is the
well-known postmaster in Clinton,

Messiah, .Kineardine. Cpl. Cole
has a long' and distinguished re-
cord in the RCAF. He was
brought up in St, Thomas' Church,
Toronto, "Ernie" Ellwood- is so
well known to the people of Clin-
ton that he needs no further in-,
troduction, here..
The meeting opened with a
short service of prayer and hymns.
R. Dixon! was elected vestry clerk.
The church accounts were pre-

financially.

congregation was most grateful
for all that he and his fellow
warden, C. V. ,Cooke, had done
for St. Paul's.
The annual meeting of. Huron
Presbyterial of 'the Women's Mis-
sionary Society was held in St.
Andrew's Presbyterian Church,
Clinton, on Tuesday, January 14,
with representatives present from
Auburn, Blyth, Belgrave, Clinton,
Remain, Goderich and Seaforth.
The president, Mrs. J. F. Scott,
Seaforth, presided for morning
and afternoon sessions.
A short memorial service was
held for the - late Mrs.,; Gordon
Bissett, Goderich, past President
