with past president A. V. Corinack
through Eastern Ontario., and
through Dufferin, Grey and Bruce.
He told of his amazement in the
number , of part-time farmers —
farmers who had to have a second
job in order to make ends meet.
He said that economists are ad-

to 25 year for prosperity, but
that IS the same advice they got
just 25 years ago.
' "Contract farming," said Mr.
Hill, "can work to the detriment
of farmers. Though I sympathize
with the farmer who is forced
to contract farming, the sad part
is- that the feed man who lets the
contract cares only for the feed
consumed. Other farmers have to
compete with this, and the price
of farm animals is driven lower."
Mr ,Hill criticized the Ontarig
Federation of Agriculture for in-
viting only progressive conser-
vative members from this province
to listen to their requests, and in
fact suggested that a PC member
from Western Canada leave the
meeting, "This is no time for
regional policies," said Mr. Hill,
"We can get that at Toronto,
but at Ottawa, requests should be
at a cross-Canada level."
He criticized several of the
